AWSOME!!
I wish I could award more than five stars -- this CD set is way beyond fantastic! Some years ago, I made the mistake of trying to replace my vinyl movie soundtrack with PATTON/TORA! TORA! TORA! because this was the only CD offering of the Patton soundtrack then available. I was so disappointed by both the music selected and the recording quality that I quickly sold the CD and paid to have my worn LP transferred to a CD! This CD set offers the complete 1970 LP soundtrack, including the Scott's rendering of the Patton speech, with crisp, flawless quality. The second CD offers some of the same cuts (one can never have too much of a good thing!) but also adds cuts -- for example, "The Cemetery", "The Prayer", "An Eloquent Man" and "Pensive Patton" -- not found on the other disk. Here, again, the sound quality is astounding! My only quibble, and it is a very minor one, is the inclusion of bonus track 18, the "Echoplex Session", on the first CD. This five-and-a-half minutes is just plain strange, and I generally just skip over it if I'm listening in my car. This movie soundtrack is a classic, and this CD does it justice.

"Entr'acte," ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTES
Go no further, buy this one. This is THE real Patton soundtrack from the movie, the other re-performances are pale imitations. Sadly, this is not currently available digitally (outside of Jobsland), and for years was not even available on CD, only the old cassette tape edition, and I gradually wore out my stack year after year.It is worth the price for the two-minute "Patton March"/"Entr'acte" alone, the song that played at the end of the intermission in the original theatrical release. On earlier releases it is called "Entr'acte," but has been retitled "Patton March" more recently. This piece is your two-minute touchstone for the life of GSP Jr. Although the movie doesn't really get at the courage and humanity of the historical Patton (preferring, as Coppola admits, to make him a mystery), it was partially based on Ladislas Farago's Patton: Ordeal and Triumph . In keeping with that title, "Entr'acte"/"Patton March" encapsulates the story of Patton's life, keeping faith in his destiny through the adversity and lean times until history was ready for his life to culminate as the leader of the liberating Third Army.

Great Score But in Mono
I never saw this movie but had the Mancini 1963 condensed version for years on vinyl and then on CD. Now we have the entire score which is one of Mancini's best. Only drawback is that it's all in mono sound. Good sound, but mono. The intensity and creativity of a great artist outshines this minor drawback. It would be nice of some team did a complete re-recording in stereo. Re-recordings, if done right, as they were with some of Bernard Herrmann's scores, are a must have for any collector. But this "Charade" is spectacular all the same. You forget about the mono as the disc plays on.

Best soundtrack
Best of everything two disk set. Patton without the music you get the feeling of being Patton himself is there in the room with you. its both the score and soundtrack. My only grip is too little music. however two of the best quotes from the movie are in this set. opening scene quote and one where the horses a drawing the dead with horses. score and soundtrack will save you money. But once you read the inside cover about how they came up with music its perfect direction of music and film and teamwork one the best director music and film teams out there. Patton is pain in the neck but he did his duty. I didn't pick you Ike picked you. .

Some audio problems
The second cd, the original soundtrack from Patton, had terrible sounds and pauses. It wasn't like the old tape that I used to have. The cassette tape was the original soundtrack by Casablanca music, as it was back then. Whatever their source was, it was badly damaged or not listened to and corrected for its problems. Still, the first cd and most of the second were good.

Best of Both Worlds
This is the only place that I have found the "Patton Speech" other than my original vinyl record from the 70's. One disk has the original motion picture soundtrack from the studio and the other has just the music and other information that was recorded separately. The tracks are in different sequences, and there are some minor differences. All in all, I think this is a great digital version of the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack along with the separate studio recordings.

First-rate and long overdue
At last Intrada has given us the complete original soundtrack to Henry Mancini's score for Stanley Donen's great film, Charade. This is a beautifully mastered edition of the entire high fidelity mono soundtrack, and it sounds glorious. At last we can hear Mancini's cues for such scenes as the rooftop fight and the tense finale. A must-have for Mancini fans and film buffs. Excellent liner notes are included.

It's About Time
Intrada Special Collections are a godsend for those who have wanted soundtracks for movies of Hollywood's golden and silver ages. This is the treatment for "Charade" that aficionados have been awaiting since 1963. It's NOT a reissue of the RCA Victor album (LPM/LSP-2755); as far as I can tell, this is the original underscore in its entirety (28 cues with a running time of 77:53), beautifully remastered, with informative liner notes by Jeff Bond. For those who love the movie, the cues will immediately jog the images in place. Yet Mancini's work stands firmly on its own as a musical statement: for its sheer variety in melody, tone, and instrumental choices, this is arguably one of his best scores. Grab it while you can, before it runs out of print and triples in price.

This is an excellent recording and I recommend it as one to buy ...
This is an excellent recording and I recommend it as one to buy for all those who like Henry Mancini's soundtrack music. Apart from the main title music, I particularly like the track " Metro Chase", which is very evocative of the scene where Cary Grant chases Audrey Hepburn on and off the classic Metro trains and where she hides in a phone booth in a Metro ticket hall.
