and seems to work fine - easy to use and clean
Very handy, and seems to work fine - easy to use and clean, but the interior quickly got those little rough spots that are apparently from some version of melting of the plastic. I'm not a health nut, but melting plastic in the food? Unappealing at best. Would probably put most people off. But what did I expect for the price? The 'recipes' included was a kick - not really recipes, just "how to cook" - one for pasta, one for white rice, one for stewed chicken, and one for steamed mussels. No problem, it's a no-brainer with a little experimentation. I like it for quick veg, rice, pearl barley, split peas, celery-for-soup, etc. - and anything I forgot to put in the crock-pot till 'too late'.

This is a really GOOD product with a great color
This is a really GOOD product with a great color! This pot is the perfect size for microwave cooking. It "Pressure-Cooks" very well and helps create flavorful juicy dishes - I've enjoyed trying different recipes in it. The snap-on Lid with adjustable vent/steam holes is a really nice useful feature too! What prevents me from rating this a "5-Stars" Product?1.) The 2 side handles are a bit to small and thin. And, after you've put your food inside; and then cook it, the steaming heated Pot becomes very heavy - too heavy for the thin small side handles.2.) While the Lids top spinning vent/steam "Pressure Cooker" system is a really great feature, ....cleaning Is Not. And, after several uses, it's starting to feel like the attachments are snapping back on looser & looser!?! .....I fear for its longevity!

Durable with versatility!
because I didn't know what else to get them and I've had one for I-don't-know-how-long and I love it, I bought two of the Handy Gourmet Micromaster Kitchen Microwave Pressure Cookers for my sons' family for Christmas! Both families are always on the go, so most of their cooking is Microwave. I was told today by one wife that she really enjoys it.The white color may be different, but mine cleans easy with hot water and detergent.I made a chicken and mini bell pepper meal last night for dinner, it only took 6 minutes and everything was well cooked and tender. Good flavor too (ok, pat the cook on the back thank you very much!) I've had mine for several years, I use it constantly; if I'm not cooking in it, I use it for marinating meats. To me, that's being durable with versatility! Yes I believe it's worth a solid five stars!

STOP! DO NOT BUY before you read this.
This is NOT a pressure cooker! This is a microwave bowl with a lid. Recipes a joke! Don't waste your money. Tupperware make one although it's more expensive. Wish I could give no stars, it's deceptive advertising. Shame on you.

Though I haven't used the red yet, I have one in white I use regularly. Pop in frozen black eyed peas or ford hooks, lima beans, mixed veges etc, seasoning and broth, set microwave, and when you return your dish is perfect. The steam vent on top controls moisture so well, I don't even have to stir. Clean up is quick and light weight and material is extremely stain and odor resistant. A great helper when I don't feel like heating up my kitchen, and wrestling heavy pots.

PLASTIC! False advertising.
The item I received does not fit the description on Amazon. Nowhere in the item description does it say this is plastic nor that it is for use in the MICROWAVE. On the box the second word is Microwave. Why don't they mention that in the description? That is the most pertinent characteristic people need to know about this product.

Would I recommend it to a friend
this item will be ok as a micro wave cooker. Not particularly a pressure cooker. Try to cook beans and rice 3 times in 20 minute increments. Did not work. Beans continue to be hard. Finally put everything into a real pressure cooker and cooked in less than 10 minutes. Would I recommend it to a friend? Only if they just needed it for micro wave cooking, don't expect to get your food done any sooner by using pressure..

I have used this product twice to make rice. It works very well for this. I found I had to put in more water than normal. The "pressure" is not like a steel pressure cooker -- a lot of the water escapes. But the rice cooked nicely in 15 minutes, reducing the time by a third. The pork chops I cooked didn't fare as well. I again didn't add enough water. The meat got dried out -- again the steam escapes -- and it was chewy and tough. I would recommend this for vegetables. My unit did not come with a recipe booklet or instructions. Perhaps this was an oversight.
