I have a plethora of the double wall stainless steel bottles/mugs, so when I received this one (with THREE lids!), I was a little apprehensive. None of the mugs/bottles had made a huge impression, although some are close (one keeps hot beverages HOT all night!). Sizes are too big, too small, lids too cumbersome or not able to prevent spills when I'm half-asleep and trying to get a drink of decaf or gingerale, etc.This bottle not only keeps hot liquids hot, it gave me three options for sleepy sipping and the straw one is the best! The wider mouth beats other bottles, and that same mouth is not so wide as the mugs. The straight-sided bottle fits my hand perfectly, and each lid has a loop for my finger should I need to carry several things at once. ONLY drawback is that I'll now have to order a second one, to have one for hot and one for cold!

Then I realized that many of the bottles in my collection were there because they served one of my desires while being useless when I had a different goal in mind, e.g. most were plastic of whatever type, one was HUGE to get me through a grandson's baseball games, the stainless steel one had a twist-off lid which meant it wasn't useful when driving, others had straws which I think were contributing to upper lip "gathers"...you get the point. This time I zeroed in on the most important feature: lots of really cold ice and water with interchangeable lids. And, once again, the Goldilocks problem: some too expensive for someone who already has a major investment in bottles, some too small, some needing separate purchase of a lid with a straw, some only in boring black, some with HUGE brand decals, etc. Finally exhausted with the considering, comparing, rejecting, I picked this one (in orange, no less). I ordered it on a Wednesday, and it arrived on Friday as promised. Packaging was absolute perfection: a tall, rectangular, heavy cardboard box (nestled in shipping pillows) with an alternate lid in a small box at top and bottom with the bottle and the third lid in the middle. I had planned to equip it with the straw lid but found, like many straw lids, the tiny hole to allow air in while sucking liquid out is very tiny. I used several increasingly large needles to enlarge the hole, and it still seemed to take more "drawing" effort than I wanted, remembering those upper lip folds. Since I plan to use this jug only at home (huge jug plus filled to capacity with ice & water = way too heavy to be readily portable for me), I switched to the flip top lid, and that's working just fine. Learning curve: I usually stuff the jug with ice then add water. Since this bottle insulates so well, that means little water to drink. I've quickly learned that 1/4 to 1/3 full of ice is more than enough to create a cold base that supports refilled water throughout the day. It's still early days with this bottle, but the bright orange color makes me smile and I'm drinking and enjoying the icy-cold water instead of giving lukewarm leftover water to my plants. The bottle is also well balanced and not "tippable" so that it's safe from my big dogs playing near me when I put it on the floor while watching TV. So, did I need another drink bottle? Absolutely needed this one.

Pros: Effective insulation. Narrow enough to fit in cupholders and water bottle pocket on my bags, but not so tall as to be unwieldy.Cons: Straw cap is useless. It doesn't make a tight seal, so you wind up inhaling a lot of air along with the paltry amount of liquid you can draw up.Unfortunately, I had gotten this for my car where the goal was to have a thermos that would keep water cold (even when parked in the sun during the day) that I could sip from without taking my eyes off the road. This thermos only does half that -- it keeps the water cold, but since the straw cap is useless, I have to tilt the bottle back in order to drink from it.

I love this water bottle. I had to replace a forty-year-old steel-and-glass thermos that finally gave up the ghost, and this bottle is much lighter, it's easier to clean, and it fits better into my backpack pockets. Plus, it's yellow. It really is beautiful. The three lids plus the reusable straw make it a perfect choice for whatever beverage I'm carrying. Usually, that would be a smoothie.I take a smoothie to school every day, and this thermos bottle keeps my smoothie cold all day. I don't drink coffee, so I can't speak to its ability to keep beverages hot, but I would be surprised if it did not perform as expected.Before the package even arrived, I received an email from the owner of the company explaining that if there were any problems, to please get in touch with him, and he would make sure that everything was handled properly. I had no need to contact him -- the delivery was perfect, and the bottle has exceeded my expectations.This is a very high quality stainless steel thermos bottle, and the company seems to be very concerned with customer satisfaction. I must say, I am a very satisfied customer.

Overall, a good product, but to earn my 5 stars, I would fix the following shortcomings: 1. The bonus straw lid doesn't align perfectly with the straw hole inside, so you sip water mixed with air, which is not quite pleasant. I have seen now similar complaints about this same problem. Are these customer comments of any help? 2. When the bottle is full of water the whole unit it's a bit heavy, so you need to be careful with the metal bottom not to scratch delicate surfaces.
