This Speed Feed trimmer was very easy to install on my 31cc 4 stroke Craftsman gas trimmer. I simply unscrewed the standard trimmer head as instructed in the Craftsman manual, added the supplied spacer and then screwed on the new Speed Feed head. I also glued (using heavy duty "GOOP" glue) a large flat washer to the cap of the trimmer head. This will increase the longevity of the cap as you tap the head on the ground (eg; concrete, etc) to feed more line. This washer setup worked well on my standard trimmer head and prevented the plastic from being worn away. I don't know why these Speed Feed trimmer heads don't come standard as it can be a challenge to add new string to a standard head. Vey pleased with the purchase. The accompanying instructions are poor, but Youtube videos illustrate how easy the conversion is.

I was looking for a universal head to replace a more expensive and hard to find OEM head. Your success with the head will be a function of how you or the people using the head take care of their equipment. It is a universal head and achieves that status by having a selection of mounting adapters. The intersection of the adapters and the head's plastic may be a weak point. Single users of the equipment tend to be more careful and take better care of the equipment in use; in contrast, multiple users tend to be very on the equipment and over time the head wears significantly and quickly introducing damaging vibrations and other problems.

It took me 4 times as long to figure out how to take the head off my Echo as it did to simply screw this on! I was expecting a much more difficult project. I liked how it doesn't let out so much string that it is chopping the excess off every time. I also like the design that the bump head is easily replaceable because that should be the only part that can wear out. Also, the easy line loading is gonna be great compared to my previous system.

The only reason I gave this product 4 stars is because it doesn't work well with clutch less weedeaters, and didn't fit my cheap Walmart weedeater ( Hypertough ) brand. HOWEVER!! I did love this product so much I cut the head off my cheap weedeater and fabricated a new head that it fit. As for the clutch less side of the review, the start stop jerking of starting the machine results in the head autofeeding the string in. This can be avoided by tying the strings together (simple square knot) starting and warming up machine, shutting it off and untying it.

this is a good weed eater head easy reload made well plenty of adapters fits all my weed eaters echo, troy built. Its made low where string comes out that way you can cut grass low and not have to tilt head so much and sling rocks and dirt all over you.So far it's batting a thousand.

I had an Echo brand head just like this on my REDMAX trimmer and it finally got so worn that it wouldn't feed line consistently. The echo was 30.00 to replace and then I saw this head on Amazon and decided to give it a try. Installation was very easy and this head works awesome. It is easy to load the line and easy to feed it while you are trimming. Well worth the price. It also comes with a bag of attachments to fit it to your trimmer. My REDMAX was purchased in 1999 and this head fits it.

I bought this to use commercially. I’m very pleased with the performance. I installed on an efco 2200ds trimmer. Easy as pie. It’s been on the trimmer for a couple weeks now and works awesome. Don’t bump it on the concrete( like any head) and it should last quite some time. The bump feed works better than the original head, and re winding line takes seconds. Another plus, it’s lighter than the original head and slightly smaller in diameter making it easier to use. I’ll definitely be buying for all my trimmers.

I ordered this with high expectations! The reason I gave 4 stars is because all the adapters were not compatible out the box. The problem was the thread pitch on the adapter nipple and coupler did not match so they wouldn’t go together, but I emailed the seller and they fixed it right away!! If this wasn’t the case I would give 5 ⭐️ But to think there may be packs out there that don’t have all the correct parts. The product once all parts were there is awesome!
