I've been using Thrive Shave Oil for half a year. Initially, I didn't notice much difference from the shave butter I used to use. However, I ran out of Thrive about two weeks ago and completely forgot to order more. I figured that I would switch back to the old shave butter until I finished the bottle, while I waited until my new Thrive order arrived.The results were astounding. I immediately began get ingrown hairs and severe irritation with the first shave. As I continued to use the shave butter, my shave continued to get worse. The morning that my Thrive order arrived, I had multiple ingrown hairs and and horrible rash. I switched back to Thrive the next day, and the irritation cleared up immediately.I was amazed at how my face reacted to just over a week without Thrive...and how quickly it welcomed it back. I highly recommend this product for anyone with sensitive skin, especially if you appreciate a close shave.My experience: A shave with Thrive will feel a little too close while the blade is on your skin, but your face will not be irritated afterwards. The scent is a little astringent, but it washes almost completely away. I also don't have to reapply, and I shave with and against the grain. I usually use 4 pumps per shave, and each bottle last about 2 months.

Smallest bottle I have ever seen and too expensive, the bottle is the size of a tiny pill bottle.It is comparative to shaving with olive oil, but does wash off easier than olive oil. The product does work well, my face feels like I have had a smooth shave, but I needed to use too much of the product to cover my face, the entire bottle might last me 2 weeks and that is not worth the money that I paid.The company that sells the product is great, they refunded my purchase price, without me even requesting it.I would buy again if they lowered the price.

I've recently discovered the joy of wet shaving, and have acquired several razors (DE and shavettes). The entire process and craft has become a morning mediation. Why did men ever give this up for cartridge razors?! (Previously I hadn't done more than trim my beard for 10 yrs)Realizing that when travelling I'm not going to want to pack everything -- soap, dish, brush, etc... -- I went where I go for most product discovery, Amazon, and came across this shave oil.THRIVE STOLE MY MORNING RITUAL!! Not completely. I am still doing the full deed often. But this stuff is so awesome I find myself simply using this shave oil most of the time, and now the lotion afterward. You can feel the tingly healingness, it glides incredibly well, and I like being able to see both the hair removal as I go, and the accumulation on my blade, some instant feedback.I use this with a Feather Artist Club SS non-folding.I love that it's on Subscribe and Save (that's my jam).It's also pretty nice to get emails telling me that by shaving, I'm helping family farmers in Costa Rica...

Firstly, I don't see how you can possibly throw away your shaving cream and not get irritated. However, It does a very nice job as a pre-shave. So why only 1 star, when I'd given 4 in the past?For one 1 reason and only 1 reason. It's insanely packaged in a glass bottle. Do they not know that many people shave in the shower? Sure enough, at 3/4 full, it slipped (it is oil!) and broke all over the shower floor. Not fun and pretty wasteful. It's not that they dont have plastic bottles. They use plastic for their aftershave. This is so backwards, it is just plain stupid. Should be reverse packaging, or no glass at all. I simple CANNOT purchase this product again, even though it's pretty darn good. That stinks!

I have a rare condition which I get acnes on my under-beard area if I do not shave every 4 or 5 days. Although I am not a super-frequent shaver (some shave every day), but I still need a good preparation to shave since my skin gets tired because of shaving frequently. This product helped me shave without the hassle of treating small wounds I caused to my self because of shaving (or the slight skin peeled because of the razor). It smells so good (Orange or Nectarine kind of smell). Small amount of this pre-shave gets you ready to shave (I still apply the shaving cream). For me it is a good deal and now I am planning to stock some and give one as a gift to one of my friends.It came in a very good packaging (the bottle is made of glass). Although the package was forwarded to me internationally (from my address in US to my address in Asia), it arrived with no leakage or damages.If you are looking for a pre-shave oil, this is a good option.

I've been using the same shaving cream for years and am always hesitant to try something new because they never work out, especially a Shave Oil which I had never even considered before. After putting it on I thought it wouldn't work because I couldn't even see anything, but then started to see all the hairs on my blade and was super impressed. Incredibly smooth glide, and afterwards seemed to calm my skin and I had way less irritation than normal. Convinced my wife to try it on her legs and she loves it as well. Going to try their face balm now also and see how that does as an aftershave. Highly recommend!

I bought Thrive shave oil for my husband at the recommendation of a male friend who lives and breathes grooming products but is loathe to spend ridiculous amounts of money for fancy labels. My husband became an instant fan after the first shave! Great scent (which I loved too) plus the small bottle makes it ideal for travel. He needs so little of the oil to shave he just keeps it in the toiletry kit and never has to think about it. Amazing smooth, close shave - vastly superior to gel or foam. I can't recommend this product enough. Get it for the guy in your life!
