Do NOT recommend for fiberglass!
I had several issues with this product;First one of the captured wire clamp screws was installed crooked and I was unable to clamp the hot wire without first fixing the issue.Secondly the flange needs to be larger, when using the 3 small screws to attach it from the outside they are so close to the edge of the hole (maybe 1/16") you cant get a good bite without the fiberglass wanted to break through into the larger center hole. Even after drilling pilot holes one still tore through into the center hole and the gelcoat all chipped away it is very poor looking around the outside. If you try and use the metal nut on the backside it interferes with the screws on the front side, preventing you from doing both -its either/or. And the nut is also extremely thin and actually bites into the fiberglass too much to achieve a nice snug fit.I had to hunt down a 2" ID thrust washer from a local supplier and I will try to use this as a large washer between the fiberglass and the nut so that I can tighten it down. Then I will need to touchup/hide the gel coat damage on the outside. This might work well for a wood/metal installation but is a not designed for ease of use in fiberglass. I am going to spend more time and money making it work than the unit itself. All coild have been avoided if this was designed with a larger flange and/or a washer for the backside and nix the front screws.

A great bulkhead high voltage solution.
A great product, if a bit pricey. I've purchased two of these 120V inputs and both have worked superbly. One was used as a connection for my truck's engine block heater and the other for a tool trailer that has an onboard charging system. I can't say that I would trust the supplied rubber washer, which is integrated into the rubber cover, to hold a water-tight connection. However, the build quality and design of this fitting is top notch - ground, neutral, and hot are all clearly color-coded; wiring is set by turning the stainless set screws which compress two small stainless plates, allowing for a more secure connection than the traditional crush-under-a-screw solution; high impact plastic; galvanized, toothed ring washer for maximum sealing compression. I added dielectric grease within the wiring connections to minimize corrosion and maximize wiring and fitting lifespan. I would highly recommend this product. 4/5 with the only deduction being the elevated cost.

Just What I Needed
I purchased this to electrify my new small workshop. My workshop is next to my house but it was not electrified. I had an extension cord running from the front of my house into the workshop doors. The double doors were barely able to close with the cord running in between the two of them. I installed this inlet on the back of the workshop and am now able to run the extension cord from my house, out of the way, to the back of the shed. I added a switch plus two outlets. Just what I was looking for. The only slight problem I had installing it was it calls for a 1 7/8" hole to be made but I could not find a hole saw that size. They only sell 1 1/2" or 2" hole saw so I went with the 2". It worked fine except for the fact that one of the three mounting holes could not be used. No big deal since its also secured from the inside with a big nut (like a plumbing drain nut).

Great product
I got this for my Dad's boat. The internal plug broke on his boat. We were looking into just replacing the inside plug but they we came across the whole assembly. I checked to make sure it was the exact this and it was! Ordered one in asap and installed it when we installed a new on board charger. This was so easy to swap out and fit perfectly in the hole the other unit came out of. The wiring was super simple considering the plug bag is color coded on which wires to put where. The plug even has a guide to show you how much to strip off your wires. I can believe this will work for years to come considered the original one lasted 8 years. I have to say this to that this plug in is used probably 2-3 times a week spring through fall so it gets a work out. It seems to seal nicely and keep the water out while the boats on the water and trailer.

Great product to keep block heater cords clean and secure
I love these ports. In Alaska (and other cold areas), everyone has cords hanging out of their vehicles to power their block heaters. There's a few thing I dont like about that: one, the plug is exposed to the elements and can be damaged. Two, it looks foolish. I believe that replacing an extension cord every year or so is a waste of money, so I just purchased these and installed them on the bumper. Now I can cover the plug to keep the prongs clean and dry, and there's no need to fish for the cord in snow. And it just looks clean. I kiw Alaskans take great pride in their dangling cords, and yes, its an added cost for an aesthetic reason, but it looks better (in my opinion) and the prongs are nice and protected. (I did this on four vehicles). I recommedn it.

Perhaps the best available, but the lid won’t stay closed after a few years
Replaced an identical footing on my boat. Mostly well made, but rubber on the lid hardens over time and then it won’t stay closed. Particularly in a saltwater environment, you need that lid.

Sweet shore (curb!) inlet
Pretty sweet plug. I use it on my car in the rear bumper. When plugged in it runs an engine block heater and a small personal heater in the cabin, along with some other 110V equipemnt. Idly thoughout the night, the car sucks 8-14 amps though this plug without issue. It has seen 30amp spikes, again with no issue... I suspect something else will fail before this plug with that kind of load. Solid connection from a wide variety of extension cords. Sometimes too good! After attaching my wires to the installation side, i flooded the connection chamber with silicone. One complaint, is the rubber cover. It works great for the first few months. But eventually it gets weak, it fails to hold its expandable shape and will just not "snap" back into the socket. Fixed with some electrical tape warped around the perimeter of the boot. Could also cut a small circular piece of metal or wood to wedge in the inside cutout to keep the boots shape.
