This device is great so far. I got it to use with laptop.The device is a shiny black plastic and it feels great and definitely not cheap. The HDMI connector fits very firmly in my dell laptop and once i had plugged a VGA cable into the other end the device was incredibly easy to use.I simply plug the VGA cable into my monitor and the laptop screen was on it. After fiddling around in the graphics settings i worked out how to set up the screen to be used as a second monitor. This was simple to do from the NVIDIA settings.Being able to use a second screen is very useful for improving productivity as it allows me to have up to 4 windows or more open at once and very easily switch between them. I would recommend using a second monitor to anyone because of how much more productive it can be.Overall this device is great if you want another screen to be in use from your laptop. Or you can use it to connect your computer of other device with an HDMI out port to a VGA screen.

Works fine but it is not HDCP compliant so whilst it will connect my Apple TV to my old plasma screen (VGA input and does up to 720p) I can't play any movies through it. I can navigate the Apple TV menus etc. This probably explains why there is such a range of prices for these devices.A typical example of innocent people being hit but the complexities of having to stop criminals copying.

This £4 item ruined my projector. It worked for two minutes then not only stopped working, but blew something inside my projector so that I can't play anything from any source now. Not happy and am going to complain to seller and manufacturer. I don't know what my rights are but someone must be responsible. Wish me luck.

Bought to convert a Raspberry Pi to a VGA monitor. You need to change some settings in your Pi config file to accept the lower screen resolution, but it works just fine.

I do not know for certain that the device I received is not faulty but on the assumption that it isn't I have to say the idea behind it is a great one provided you are not using a Raspberry Pi 3.I tried four different vga monitors and it failed to display anything.

Does the job, it is packed nicely, have been using it for 2 years now and no issue at all.
