Color:Shave Ready (Further Honed) This listing allows you to select (by Color option) either a factory-edge razor or a razor which has been made professionally Shave Ready post-factory (and thus honed, tested, and resealed) by a 'honemeister'; if you select the Shave Ready option, you will receive a razor which was opened but is significantly sharper than the factory edge, and your razor should only be shipped and sold by the merchant to assure the honing was performed the day dispatched (please note that Wacker themselves do NOT use any factory tamper seals, but if you choose "Factory Edge" you will receive exactly what Wacker exports). It is advised to not strop before the first shave if inexperienced (always strop thereafter). Their 'bread-and-butter' model, Wacker's #1050 "Allround" is their standard for everyday use, and a razor that's every bit the 6/8" designation claimed. It is 6/8" from the grind line on the spine to the bevel plane, and more than 7/8" from the rear of spine to front of edge. The ~5.5mm tang is meaty and has wonderful file jimps (ridges) to aid your handling. Weight is approximately 59 grams. The razor's scales are made of relatively thick and stable buffalo horn which is farm raised in the EU, and the horn blanks are aged for temperance before being formed. Wackers are handmade in Solingen, Germany, by a father/son tandem of master grinders spanning four generations.
