Super Wide Brim Lifeguard Hat Straw Beach Sun Summer Surf Safari Gardening UPF

I own a lot of floppy hats, but I am thoroughly enjoying this stiffer lifeguard hat. I was especially impressed yesterday while walking the beach in 20+ mph winds. The strap kept the hat on --I really though it was going to rip apart in the high winds, but it stayed strong. Needless to say, it's great for kayaking too. Also wore it everyday during a lacrosse tournament and it provided great sun protection. The real surprise was how well it protected me from a spontaneous rain shower--my hair stayed dry (not sure how, because it feels like it's airy)Bonus is that it's kind of a cute hat and comfortable to wear. It's not a hat you can roll up and pack in your suitcase though.

FGreat sun hat for summer! I wear it everyday and it is saving the top of my head and my face from too much UV. It was a great purchase the liner that makes contact with your forehead is soft and fits snugly around my head. I am really glad I bought this hat.

Finally found a hat that fits my head. Almost all hats are "one size fits all." The brim is large and blocks a lot of sun. I would have given 5 stars, but they don't let you have a choice on the color of the cord. They say it will be black, brown, or white. Well, the last color I wanted was white -- and unfortunately that is the color I received. You should have a choice. The other reason is that the thread that they use to make the hat had become unraveled in the front of the brim, so I see sunlight through it. I'm going to have to sew it closed instead of returning. Not sure if it poor construction or the packaging. The only thing in the box was the hat, no filling to safeguard the hat. Also, the box was too small for the hat and brim, the hat was squished into a too narrow box.'

I have a size 7 3/4 head size and it's hard to find anything that fits, but the largest size fits me. The inner edge of the brim has a wide elastic band that grips your head, and helps to keep the hat in place on a windy day. That plus the wide brim makes it great for the beach,

I ordered an XL size and it awkwardly sits at the very crown of my head. Slightly turning your head or moving it down causes the hat to slip off or be pushed off your head. This thing would not last a single second if there was so much as a breeze. This is not an XL. I ignored the reviews that said they just send out the same hat but claim it for different sizes and inflate the price. I was charged more for the exact same product. Untrustworthy company.

Great hat for being outside! I bought this hat because we spend a lot of time on the boat and beach. I want to protect my face and neck. As you can see in the picture (look at the shade reflecting on my coverup), it protects all of the have and neck! Not much light let in with it either. It’s not the best material (thick) but should last a long time if properly cared for (only used 2x). The drawstring also is useful for cruising on the boat. Would recommend for the price.

After a year of abuse I've got to give this thing five stars, especially when considering the reasonable price point. I'm thinking I'll get two years out of this hat while wearing it daily and being careless with it -- with proper care and more occasional use I bet you could get many years of life out of it.I especially appreciate the larger size option available, it was a real deal-maker for me because I'm basically a giant walking Q-Tip. This hat will ably keep the wearer safe from the yellow face (it burns us, precious). Beware high winds, though, because the massive brim on this hat will do its best to make the wearer fly.Seriously though-- really good hat, would recommend.
