sturdy but a little too short and the angle makes the mic stay way on top of the head and in the middle of the way hit mi mic all the time Idk to little to close not the best out there the clip its good I cant stop hitting the mick on my 8" tom so spend a little more or pick a different clip I would not recommend this for small toms
