The Summer Maiden: A spellbinding saga from the Sunday Times bestselling author (The River Maid, Book 2)

I have read the first book in this series and now I have read the second book a great story well worth reading 📚.I have just ordered the last book which comes out on the 1st November,2018.

I read the first book The River Maid which showed, as ever, very much Dilly Court's genius in writing her amazing novels.As this was the 2nd book in the trilogy I was intrigued to see what the storyline would be and what characters remained. SPOILER ALERT NEXT... Essie Chapman, was a strong determined girl in the prior book. In this she is thoroughly selfish, thoughtless and negligent of her children.I was extremely sad that the character that had been built up, was totally spineless in it's sequel. I liked all the other new characters in this, but was very disappointed in regard of Essie. What was Ms Court thinking?

I love Dilly Courts books and always find myself completely immersed in the story completely captivated with the characters experiences. A great way to switch off from my busy everyday life!

I enjoyed this second book in the trilogy, the only complaint I have is why did the Author change the character of the main heroine Esther to what she was like in the first book, rather annoying as you felt she would not have acted the way she did, with her attitude and outlook, felt it was rather rushed in parts when it could have been better thought out.

It took me a little while to get into the book but then I couldn't put it down. Unfortunately I started with this book and now have to go back to read the first one in the trilogy. My advice start with the River Maid which is the first in the series.

I read Fully Court"s first two books in the trilogy and wanted to see how it all ended Silly is a wonderful writer who keeps the reader engrossed throughout the book. I took the book into hospital with me and passed the time pleasantly reading her story.

Loved, loved the way the story line continued from book 1. Easy to get back into the characters.Can't wait for next 3rd in series.

This is the follow up to The River Maid and it's a great sequel. I can highly recommend the three books in this series.

Go this little series for my sister's partner and she has not put it down. And I thiink she has finished it. So will have to see what else she might read next.

A very good book. Had already read the River Maid which was book one so really wanted to read this as it was the next in the series. A good author.

Terrific story and brilliant characters. You do need to read the first one in the trilogy to relate to this book.

Just love her books excellent read, but could have bought it in Tesco for £4
