I got a free more tactical looking version of a bag like this from work. I found it really useful when I didn't want to carry a full backpack around with me. However, I found I was getting alot of "looks whose all tactical today" comments from random coworkers about five times (even though we all get gear like this, it's a large organization) and decided the bag was no good for a semi-formal HQ type environment. But I decided I wanted another bag this size, and I found this one and it was cheap. It's pretty good construction, magnetic latches. It's basically the same bag but they went for "Raiders of the Lost Ark" instead of "tactical."However, absolutely nobody has given me any lip on the bag... quite the contrary, I got a compliment on it the other day.It does have what appears to be "nonsense writing" on the flap.

Very nice bag! Well constructed and made of heavy canvas and leather. Most of the leather is aesthetic / decorative and not structural but it gives the bag a distinct retro look. Almost 1920's or earlier, kind of a Indiana Jones look. I really love the way the bag looks and carries across your shoulder. It is very comfortable. I bought this bag for work. I am an engineering type and needed a heavy duty bag to carry "field stuff" in. It will easily fit my 6X9 appointment book, tape measure, bottled water, ear protection band, flashlight, keys, handi-wipes, etc. The buckles on the front are decorative with very strong magnets that hold the front flap shut. They are a little difficult to get lined up sometimes. There are two (2) web mesh pockets on the side that are very small. A bottled water will not fit there. I haven't found a use for those pockets yet as they are too narrow and deep. Glasses might go there but then they would get crushed unless you used a case. There is some funny english writing on the front leather cover that people get a big kick out of when they read it. Overall the bag is very well constructed with heavy thread, heavy canvas and a nice sturdy strap. I can see this bag lasting for many years. It is a "manly" looking bag with several pockets for storage and the inside main pocket is lined nicely for protection of contents.PROS:Heavy duty canvasStrong magnets for the main cover flap that will not come looseVery nice feel with the adjustable strap across your shoulder. Nice natural feel and the bag rides in the exact right place on your sideNot too big of a bag and not too small if you are just looking for a daily "carry bag" for small itemsAll pockets on the bag are easy to get to if you move the bag to the front. You could easily use this bag for concealed carry too.CONS:The webbed pockets on the sides need to be bigger. If they would fit a 16.9 Oz bottled water it would be perfect!

I am super rough with my gear and spend most of my time traveling, outdoors and occasionally sleeping while using and relying on it all.Overall I would give the satchel a thumbs up, however if you are super rough and dont have time to modify your gear then maybe try a different satchel.The shoulder strap is not removable, and slides from the weight of the satchel when fullAnd after a month one of the magnets and magnet housing fell off. i was able to repair it, but I will be using a different design in the future.Updates:Both magnets and housing snapped off in a way that is unrepairableI ordered a different larger satchel and will donate the current one nowAlso the leather cover comes with a bunch of words printed on it, I have kept that covered with tape the entire time.

Ugh, I still can't believe I'm even using thay term, but quite frankly I can't think of any other way to describe It. At first I thought it was one of those single strap over the should messenger style bags. Upon receiving it, I realized that this bag is the love child of a leather purse and a messenger bag. At first I was contemplating on sending it back, until I realized that it was the PERFECT size for the stuff I carry on a daily basis. Most of my backpacks are too big and are either empty, or I carry extra stuff I don't need just to occupy space. With this I don't have that problem. I could be done without the poorly translated to English messages on the front flap, but overall I can't complain.

This is a great military style messenger Bag! when you lift at the front flap you have an outer pocket with no zipper. I use this for my phone. next is the zip pocket. I put my LG tablet in there and it fits just fine. Next is the largest pocket.. You could fit a large tablet in there with no problem. It has a drawstring to keep it closed. Also inside the large pocket is a zipper compartment. Certainly large enough for your wallet, a medium back up power supply. The flap has little magnets that do a surprisingly good job holding it closed. Then 2 mesh side pockets and one little pouch by the strap. I put my key fob for my car there. Fits perfect.

I have been looking for a piece of gear like this for a long time. Lots of room - Kindle, aphone, wallet, keys, three pairs of glasses, pocket knife, small pen and notebook pack, and two medium bananas. Really well constructed, I couldn't find a loose thread anywhere. I'd buy this product again, but I have a feeling that I won't need another one for a very long time.UPDATE: It has been three weeks since I bought this bag and I am still happy with it. I did lose one of the buckle/snaps on one of the straps that holds the bag shut. I have no idea how that happened. Being able to use only one snap closure works even when I have overstuffed the bag.

Would be so much better if the the “ leather “ front panel was actually leather. Apart from that it is not at all bad, you get what you pay for. I would suggest army surplus gas mask bag would be a better option.
