The first doily I cut was a bust. I used card stock without a shim and it DID NOT cut all the way through. I tried to use a paper piercer to punch out each piece, but ended up tearing the doily in several areas trying to punch out the cut outs. So I went back to my Big Shot with a shim and ran the die through 3 times with it, using the exact same card stock. Punched through completely with no work and I had a beautiful paper doily!I recommend a thinner shim; mine was only the thickness of a piece of card stock, unfolded. I give this die 5 stars because I love the way the finished doily looks and it wasn't hard to figure out the right "sandwich."

This doily die works very well with the Big Shot. I have to add a little paper shim, but it comes out just the way it is supposed to. Really pretty. I have to try it out with card stock. May not need the shim with card stock. This is a perfect embellishment for cardmaking or to decorate a mini album.

This doily is beautiful! Size is perfect for greeting cards and for putting under guests' drinks. I intend to make some to wrap around individual Christmas cookies. Die cuts clean. TIP: use wax paper between the die and card stock.

I received this item last week and realized I needed addition products to make it work. I got that today. I have tried everything to get this item to punch out. It looks as though it is cut but it's not. I tried tape and a pointing tool to remove the design pieces but the are still attached. I have added additional shims but it is now getting hard to get the design thru the machine it is so tight. And still a bad cut.

This die is very lacy and intricate. Use it as a layering piece, cut it in half to use that way or make a cone with each half using a patterned paper behind it. Quick and easy.

This is a beautiful die. I run it through 2 or 3 times and don't have too much trouble poking the pieces out. It's very delicate and small enough for using in cardmaking.

I am an avid scrap booker and card maker, and have purchased many tools including other brnad dies. This was my first purchase of a "Lifestyle" die and it is beautiful, and the price is great!
