K2 Game by Rebel.pl Publishing

A bit pricey but worth it in my opinion. A little tricky to get used to and takes a few games to start getting the hang of things but once you know whats going on it makes for a good time. My 8 year old daughter is able to play with us so its not as complicated as one might think. The instructions come in german but there is a great tutorial video on youtube which shows you how to play. A lot of different variables means the game is always going to be different then the last.

This is a great game that is very simple to learn. Via a very limited hand of cards, some of which allow you to move up or down the mountain and others that give you oxygen, you try your best to climb one of the highest mountains in the world. You begin at base camp where the oxygen is rich, but as you move up, the air thins and the cards in your hand may not give you all of the oxygen that you need, causing you to repel back down, if you can. There is a limit to the number of climbers that can be on one spot as you climb up, and that number decreases as you climb higher. The goal here isn't necessarily to reach the top, though that does give you the most points, but to survive 18 days on the mountain. Each of your two climbers gets a tent that you can use to acclimatize, but other than than, you need to strategize your way up, or down, without running out of oxygen. The weather plays a huge role, and it varies each game depending on how the weather tiles come up.I really love this game, one of my favorites. You really feel the tension as you try to battle the weather and others for climbing spots to win. There is an easy side with good weather and a harder side with more severe weather, and the combination of weather tiles compounds these conditions. Wear your warmest jacket and bring lots of energy bars, you're going to need them!

All instructions are in German. You can search for scanned pdfs in English, but it's certainly not what I was expecting. There was no indication of the language in the description, and all the German text on the front of the box has been conveniently removed in the headline image.

You and your opponents are climbers racing to get up K2. As you near the summit, the trails become congested, oxygen becomes thin, the weather can change on a dime, and one wrong move can leave you dead. Winning is not just about getting to the top, but surviving the 18 days of the trek.This game is fantastic. It's smart, easy to learn, full of interesting strategy, and extremely thematic without any sacrifice to game mechanics.

Great game to while away an hour or so. It has a strong theme and mechanics but the rules are easy to understand. Can be fun solo, but is better with 2 players.

Great game, very simple and really does a good job of making you feel its theme. One of the few games I have purchased recently that I don't mind playing solo!

We've only played a couple of games of K-2 so far, but it's a lot of fun. It's nice because it's not directly competitive, with the only competitive actions you perform be generally accidental. The risk/reward as you reach the top of the mountain is exhilarating, and the random factor of the weather is really cool. Definitely on our regular playlist now!

I love this game. It is different and interesting and you can adapt it as you see fit (new weather cards, extended turns, more climbers, ect). Not everyone of your friends will like this, but at least it is a thinking game and not idiotic like cards against humanity.

Dieses Spiel ist irgendwie ein Gehemtipp. Unter Vielspielern bekannt, aber sonst recht unbekannt, trotz Kennerspiel-Nominierung.Ich finde es sehr interessant zu spielen, denn es ist fast wie im echten Leben, mit dem Einfluss von Wetter und Akklimatisierungsbedingungen. Wer zu schnell hoch läuft und dann nicht mehr runterkommt weil die unteren Felder von anderen Mitspielern blockiert werden, stirbt und bekommt nur noch einen Trostpunkt in der Endwertung.Die Regeln sind relativ einfach zu verstehen, da habe ich schon andere Kennerspiele gesehen.Unbedingt kaufen!Was ich seltsam finde ist jedoch, das es zwei Verpackungsarten gibt. In die quadratische Form passt wunderbar noch die komplette Broad Peak Ereiterung. Dann gibt es aber noch eine kleinere Schachtel. Ist die älter?Bleibt nur noch die Frage, ob K2 einem bald 75-jährigen Gelegenheitsspieler und Hobby-Bergsteiger gefallen würde.

Das Thema des Spiels hat mir schon vor dem Kauf gefallen und es ist wirklich gut umgesetzt. Wir fiebern mit unseren Bergsteigern mit, wenn das Wetter schlechter wird, oder ein hartnäckiger Rivale den Weg zum Gipfel blockiert. Die Regeln sind sehr eingängig und wurden auch von Gästen stets rasch verstanden - so standen ein, zwei Aufstiegen pro Spieleabend (wir spielen auch gerne noch andere Spiele) noch nie Hindernisse im Weg. Obwohl das Spiel also nicht hochkomplex ist und einen gewissen Glücksfaktor aufweist, ist es stets spannend und kurzweilig. Die Atmosphäre und Thematik bringt K2 zum leben und wer selbst gerne wandert oder auf Berge geht, liegt mit dem Spiel sicher nicht falsch.

Sagenhaft. Ein spannendes Abenteuer.Das Spielerleben der 2 Bergsteiger kann bei mangelnder Vorsicht sehr kurz sein.Der Gewinner muß den Gipfel nicht erreicht haben.Gewinnen tut der, der mit etwas Glück und etwas Geschick seine Basislager in der richtigen Höhe und am richtigen Bergkamm aufgebaut hat.Wer dann, die Karten richtig nutzt und Glück mit dem Wetter hat, der schaffts.Auch nach mehrmaligen spielen kommt die Spannung nicht zu kurz.Ein schlüssiges Spielekonzept - Ein Wolfsspiel im weissen Schafsfell-Charakter.Eine absolute Empfehlung für alle - die auch verlieren können !

... oder einfach um sich zu hause im Warmen wohlig zu schauern beim Gedanken an Biwaks im Schneegestöber. Die Spielidee, den Verlauf auch durch veränderliche Wettervorhersagen komplexer zu gestalten, gefällt mir gut. Für mich persönlich könnte nur das Geschehen am Berg etwas variantenreicher sein, um schwierigere Entscheidungssituationen zu haben.

Bel gioco. Le regole sono scritte completamente in tedesco ma si trovano abbastanza facilmente online in italiano. Non ci sono scritte sulla plancia o sulle carte quindi una volta imparate le regole non c'è differenza tra le varie lingue.
