SST-C12 Super Stain Treat for Pools, 2.5-Pound

Wish i had before pictures...the stain looked like the inside of a tea pot, it was that brown...we were thinking we were going to have to resurface. ..2 treatments, a week apart, and stains 98% gone...will do another treatment in a month to finish the job...highly recommend!

I have tried several products for the metal stains on my fiberglass pool. With other products the stains come right back within a few days. It has been 3 weeks after I used this product and "knock on wood" the stains haven't come back. I have a 10,000 gallon pool and I used 1 bottle. With the severity of my stains on walls and floor I should have used 2 bottles. The other great thing is that you can swim within an hour and you dont have to clean the filters right away. For the price, I had to use two bottles. (18,000 gallon pool) I was expecting the stains to be 80-100% removed. It lightened two shades (60-80% improvement). I was told by other users and a pool service company that the stain I had, while somewhat significant, would be eliminated by use of this product. I was also disappointed to learn that it was also necessary to drastically reduce the alkalinity and PH prior to and during Stain treatment in order for the chemical to work properly. That culminated in an algae bloom that took super shocking and close to a week for the pool to return to a clear status. Felt the stain treatment in the long run added to the staining of the vinyl liner during treatment as the algae attack occurred while the pool chemical stability was vulnerable negating effectiveness of the product. I have used other stain treatment chemicals. Of all of them, this one was effective in reducing the stain. However, for the cost of the bottles and then the cost and time involved in treating the algae attack during treatment, the end result was a disappointing and frustrating experience overall.

Does not work on gunite pools. Spend a couple hundred dollars to get rid of phosphates afterwards.

Overrated in my opinion - didn’t notice any difference with this product.

This makes my pool look brand new!! Great product!! My pool is fiberglass and really looks new with this treatment... Use it all year long...
