Doesn’t this increase calcium in your soil which means you need to add more magnesium to balance it out ?

Nftg is a calcium based nutrient line which simply means nutrients are bonded to calcium molecules in order to deliver the nutrients. Just like hydroponic nutrients that use nitrogen as the nutrient delivery system. The benefit is calcium is a larger molecule with the ability to bind to more nutrients there for bring more nutrients up than a nitrogen molecule. Nitrogen can hold and take into the plant up to 4 other micro and macro nutrients(molders chart) while calcium can take 8. So no need to worry about being short on any magnesium. You actually will be taking up more of it now. Nftg is like a tool box. When we want to take up more of an element there is a bottle designed to do just that. Athens aminas is an amino acid additive that will helps us nftg users to take up more magnesium through nutrient chelation. However its helping take up more of everthing. Make sure to have a freshly calibrated ph meter ready because much of the nutrient uptake can be influenced by slightly changing the ph. And finally, if after all that you still are certain that there is a need for more magnesium then you will want to do a simple Epsom salt foliar spray. It's funny but even today with all the tools we have  the Epsom salt foliar spray is one of the fastest ways to get mag into your plant. It's also much easier on the plant to take up mag when its foliar sprayed. Much higher efficacy when foliar feed plus you get to keep it out of the soil. why is this on the oregons dept of agriculture as bveing mislabled?

I have no idea about that but it works as described. I used the full nutrient kit for the first time last summer and I have never has such amazing results. I'm a new gardener and the customer service at this company has been great. Aways helpful and giving great advice. Give it a try:)

IS this just ph up

Yes and no. It is made from limestone so it has a lot of calcium and some other trace minerals that feed the plant but it is not just an alkaline chemical pH up.

Can this be used to bring my soil ph up?

Accepted Answer

Yes it can. Mix it in your water and test PH before adding to soil. Do this every time you water to maintain PH level. If you use the same water source you should be able to add the same amount every time. You may be required to use more than the instructions say but that is okay I do it all the time with no negative results.
