Works as intended, just plug and play.
I purchased this to use on my media server which has no monitor, in order to take advantage of higher resolutions when connecting to it remotely. The system runs 24/7 and I have yet to encounter any issues.

Cuts out sometimes but can't really complain for the price. Using it on a miner. Sometimes on a reboot it stops working and need to connect an actual monitor for it to start back up.

Solves Annoying Wireless Display Issues
I bought this to allow me to connect to Crestron AirMedia 2 systems with a separate screen. It lets me send the wireless display to a second display, which I can use for presentations, music, etc.No frills beyond that. Does what it's supposed to.

Used on my Plex with no issue
Added this to my Plex server headless PC. No issues. Plex server reboots without any issue and I can remote to it all the time.

Perfect for headless laptop
I have a Dell Inspiron which I bought back in 2016. It has an Intel Core i7, 16gb of RAM and both an SSD and HDD drives. Even today in 2022, it is a beast of a workhorse.I was disappointed when I accidentally broke the screen. Replacing it was too costly, so I opted to use it through a Remote Desktop Connection on a MacBook Pro.I removed the broken screen, but the thing is that the Dell Inspiron does not boot up without the screen unless it is connected via HDMI to an external monitor. I had a monitor I could use for this, but it was taking space on my dinning table, so I had to look for an alternative solution.I found this dummy HDMI plug and for the price, I decided it was worth a shot.The plug basically tricks the computer into thinking there is a 4K monitor connected into the HDMI port. That is all there is to it.My Dell Inspiron boots normally and I can connect to it via Remote Desktop from my MacBook Pro. I didn't have to configure anything. It's plug and play.Do keep in mind that some computers may think the adapter is the primary display and accessing the display control panel might be tricky. This happened to me when I tested the plug on my MacBook Pro. It's not the adapter's fault, it really depends on how your OS is set up.If for whatever reason you need your computer to think there is a 4K capable display plugged in, look no further. This works perfectly.
