Perfect fit for Hero 3. Great design. Solid latch.
The stock plastic latch on my Hero 3 waterproof case cracked a few months ago. I didn't want to buy a new case, but was about to finally give up and buy one, and then I found this item. It installed in seconds, it's WAY better quality than the OEM latch, and it's definitely a 5-star item.PROS:Easy to install: Just slip out the two thin metal clasps from the existing housing, and reverse the process with the new latch. It takes seconds, not minutes.Easier to use: The metal latch seems easier to flip open than the plastic latch was.Improved durability: As evidenced by it breaking, my broken plastic latch wasn't durable. This metal latch is a huge improvement.Appearance: I think the metal latch looks cooler than the regular flat-black latch.Design: I saw other latches that would have required me to unscrew the clasp. I was concerned that it wouldn't be as good of a fix as this was. While I can't speak for the other latch, I CAN say that this latch was easy to install, and it alleviated my concerns.CONS:None. Except that GoPro should make this the OEM latch.

GoPro Rear Snap Latch
I have owned 3 GoPros and have had to replace the rear snap latch on each at least once. I was looking for something much more durable than the cheap plastic ones. Also, GoPro didn't always sell just the snap latch, but mandated the buyer purchase the camera housing as well. Then the plastic snap latch would subsequently break and I was in the same predicament. I've used this latch frequently since I bought it and it's been far superior. Obviously the aluminum construction is much more robust. I would highly recommend paying the slightly higher price to get the reliability of this component.

Metal latch much improvement
Had a case with a plastic snap for my gopro water proof case. This one is metal and works significantly better.

What an upgrade
This is a great upgrade for your waterproof sports camera, whether it is a gopro or akaso. Makes the case look 100% better and should not break.

Well made.
The weakest part of the original is the plastic holder for the hinge. It lasted about six snaps. This one is made of metal and hopefully, will last years. It was easy to install.
