Handy to have for just hatched
Works great! Easy to put together with the step by step instructions enclosed. I am using it as a just hatched brooder for my flock. Stays warm. The temperature gauge is actually for humidity but not really a problem as I can judge it by the chicks closeness to the bulb. Two bulbs enclosed along with two food dishes and a water container.Easy to clean surface that is very slick so I use a folded hand towel.

There is no exact heat control!
This is a great box, but I cannot get it to keep a constant set temperature and it’s aggravating. It’s easy to put together, and easy to clean. If anyone is having issues with the light, use the two extra bolts that come with nuts to secure the light instead of the tiny screws, because I didn’t trust those screws, especially after seeing some reviews of the light falling. One bolt for each side, and it holds great. I wish there was an exact temp you could set it to, though. That is rough. The temp was fine up until I went to check the chicks an hour later and they were overheating, and the dial wasn’t even all the way up!Side note, my incubator gave out; so as a last ditch effort, I used this over the weekend to keep my eggs warm, and the eggs are still going strong! Replacement incubator came, but I’m thrilled to know it can be used for a back up (at least for a short time).

Convenient, but small and too hot
Issues I have-bottom is smooth, requiring you to lay down paper towels or a mat so birds don't injure their legs.Pretty small. It accommodates 5 birds, but it's not a lot of space.Heat lamp too intense for small brood box. When I set it to 95F, it was way too hot and all chickens were panting and lethargic. I have it down to 87F and could probably go lower-chicks are avoiding being directly under the light.Cylindrical feeder opening is too narrow. I had to keep unclogging it so chicks had access to food, but the other feeders provided work fine for food and water. I put marbles on the bottom of the water feeder so it was safe/not too deep for them.No clear method of addressing humidity.Things I like:Although I had to lay down paper towels to make the brood box safe, the smooth surface makes it easier to clean.I love the clear window and being able to watch them easily.Somewhat convenient for a small group of chicks. All told, this unit is less pricey than some units that have all the stuff included. But if I could do it over, I probably would've tried to DIY something or found a better unit even if it cost a little more.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BUY
If you want your chicks to possibly die, I’d go with it. After paying close to 70 dollars for this box, and it only worked for maybe 4 weeks…. I would NOT RECOMMEND. I am writing this as I sit here with 3 day old quail trying everything to keep them warm because this box stopped working. It’s also terrible to clean, cheap boarding makes for water damage! Do yourself a favor and buy something a little more expensive. Your birds will thank you. 🙄

Really small and hard to regulate temp
This thing is small, really small. We had six eggs set but only three chicks hatch and thankfully just the three, by day 4 I moved them out because there just wasn’t enough room for them. One of them is even a small silkie chick. The temperature regulation has also been a major struggle. The thermometer on the front is hard to read and inaccurate anyway. I used a Govee WiFi thermometer to help but it was still a constant battle of turning the light up and down all day and night. I wanted to just turn the light off and put in a heat plate instead but the box is way too small for even my small heat plate that only four to six chicks fit under comfortably. I got this on sale and I’m glad I did, it wasn’t worth what I paid and I would’ve been even more annoyed if I had paid more for it. It might be useful to use to isolate a single chick or two but it won’t be useful to put more than that for more than a few days.It was easy enough to put together. It’s easy to clean. It does function as far as turning on and off. The little water container is ok and the chicks use it but it’s also too small to use for more than a week or so. The feed bowl works fine but my chicks have preferred to go all the way into it and sometimes sleep in it.

Better than expected
Better than expected. Works great for small chicks. I am currently using it for a miniature hen hospital and it's perfect.
