Haan Crafts Alpine Fleece Pillow Sewing Kit, 14-Inch, Camouflage

I felt this was a bit overpriced at around $15 for what you get - 2 pre-cut squares of fleece, stuffing, thread and a care tag, plus sewing instructions. However, as a beginner sewer, I liked that almost everything I'd need came included (except needle and scissors). It was a simple project for learning the basics of sewing, and the finished pillow is cute. I have since found this same product cheaper elsewhere for less than half the price I paid for it. This is a much better price and if I'd paid that amount here, would have earned this product at least half an extra star.My only other issue with this product was the instructions. They were not detailed enough for a beginner sewer, and I found I needed more pictures. I struggled to understand some of the techniques required, and had to refer to YouTube videos for extra guidance. Plus, some of the steps included in the instructionswere not required for this project - such as cutting the fabric and making sure to work on the "right" side of the fabric. This was a little confusing for a newbie like me.

I got this for my 9 year old because she expressed an interest in sewing. She managed to make this all by herself and was very proud of it. Of course...it is just 2 squares of fabric, thread, and stuffing. You could get this yourself at a fabric store. BUT...I got it because of how it comes as a "sewing kit" and it made a nice gift that my daughter opened and was delighted to receive.

This all in one kit, was perfect for my son's home economics class at school. It came with the stuffing, and the pillow case. The "groovy colors" are why my son chose it. Makes life easy when she school project is due. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a fun craft project.

I bought this as a present for my 11 year old granddaughter, along with a basic sewing machine. She had never sewn with a machine before. She now has this pillow and is proud to say she made it all by herself. it was a terrific starter project. Thank You.
