Purchased this wax as a gift to my boyfriend to try and he is liking it so far. The smell is pleasant, not too strong like other men’s hair brands. Packaging was nice - minimal and bold. The product itself takes a little work, but once smoothed out, it applies easily to the hair and provides an all day long-lasting hold. Since it is a firm hold, he doesn’t need to use too much product to style his hair, so it saves money in the long run.

Good product with expected hold. It is a little thick so takes some effort working it in but once applied it'd great!

The media could not be loaded. The product came within one day (Amazon prime). The product was in a matte box which was pretty surprising considering the price. The wax is a little harder than others but once you smooth it out it became very easy to spread through my hair.Hold held well (even without water)Matte finish was about a 3.5-4/5This was a very good product considering other competitors and their price points. Emulsifies easily. Doesn’t stink. Strong hold.

When I opened the box I was impressed with the very nice packaging. When I opened the jar (which was already open) the product was completely dried out. I tried to get some out to see if the product was useable near the bottom. I did get some out. I rubbed it between my hands but it didn’t break down at all. Disappointed.

For me not a fan of hairspray or hair gels so have been using a variety of pomades or anything with high hold and low shine. This is a matte styling product with high hold made out of bees and candelila wax.While using this it has a pleasant scent and definitely has a high hold factor so it does what is says on the packaging. However, while it says it is for any hair type it appears would be best served for those with thick soft hair vs fine course hair.This product is very thick as a wax paste so if use too much it begins to clump up and can leave residual product streaks after application through your hair. And then even if attempting to use water in the hopes of being able to smooth the product out, will not prove to be an easy task.

I found this product hard to use. It did not spread well on hand and on hair. Also, I expected a stronger hold. However, I like that it was not hard washing this product off. Just shampoo twice, then the product is all washed off. Lastly, this hair wax has a nice smell, and the smell is not too strong.

I have been using American Crew Fiber as my daily hair styling product for over 20 years. It works well on my thin straight hair that is of average 'professional' length. It has great hold, is not shiny/greasy, and is not a petroleum-based pomade. However, I am always looking for alternative products and have evaluated numerous brands over the years. I must say that this matte product from HAIRPLEXX is one of the better products for my hair type.The texture in my hand is very similar to American Crew Fiber - definitely more of a paste than an wax. But even though it is petroleum based (unlike American Crew), it does not have a greasy feel nor weigh down my fine hair. Surprisingly, I think it is even lighter than American Crew Fiber but still provides excellent hold/styling ability. It indeed has an matte look and does not leave my hair looking greasy or shiny.The HAIRPLEXX scent is fairly neutral and not very strong. The added fragrance is minimal but leans slightly on the masculine side.Overall, I feel this is a great styling product for my hair. However, there are a few negative points that prevent it from receiving 5 stars:(1) Country of origin: made in China (PRC) and therefore the ingredients may be suspect. This is unfortunate because American Crew and other products I use are made in the USA. At this price-point, I wish it was made in the US.(2) Size: the container is only 2.7 oz (80g), whereas other competitors tend to contain more product (3 oz or more). Again, at this price I wish there was more styling paste.(3) It is petroleum based: petrolatum (i.e. petroleum jelly) is the second ingredient. This is not obvious as the the listing and promotional images only tout its 'natural wax' contents.
