The Art of Modelling Chocolate Paperback – Illustrated, 23 April 2015

I love buying books like these as I am a modeller I have sugar animation and a few others so this is just another one to add to my collection. My skills as a modeller is probably intermediate but I am always learning. What I found with this book is that if you are just beginning or wanting to learn a new technique then this is not the greatest of books. The instruction is basic I found that the pictures showing you what to do are also basic with the assumption that you already know how to make some of the techniques. The ideas are cute and applicable whether you are working in chocolate or sugar paste or even polymer clay.

I had been really excited about this book, Nadia's figure modelling is exceptional, however I found it very disappointing. There is only one section with instructions for modelling a little girl figure, although this could be adapted to your own designs. The rest of the book is devoted to rather basic animal designs that any beginner would find less than challenging. I would not recommend this book to those who know the work of "Chokolate" and are expecting instructions for that level of work.

I was so disappointed when I received this book. I had been looking forward to seeing all the beautiful figures Nadia makes explained in more detail, but instead found that the majority of the book contains very basic animal figures. This book is more suited to someone who is just a beginner in the art of modelling chocolate rather than someone who is looking to expand their skills.

I have several tutorials of Nadia and thought this book will show more tutorials about how to make her beautiful human figurines. Unfortunately most of it was about animal figures, which I am not very interested in. I am very sad that I waited 2 months for something that I really would not have bought if I had know what the content was!
