I'm ex military and have been working around computers and electronics since the 70's. Owned a computer repair shop for 15 years. Still work with computers a lot. I'm petty good when it comes to anything mechanical. Can even build a house from the ground up. I've met my match with this camera though. lol. I guess I should have ordered a good quality magic wand when I ordered this Chinese camera. Seriously though, I would have to call this one 'technically DOA' because even though the LED's light up and appear to function, there's no way to overcome the problems with their cheap drivers and app software. Their app looks like it's from 1995. On the other hand, the fact that the LED's light up does not mean that the camera itself is any good. For All I know, they could have left the camera chip out completely. I can see a little lens, but that doesn't mean there's anything behind it. I wouldn't put it past the Chines to do something like that. I've seen crazier stuff before when it comes to their manufacturing practices. Anyway, I could always take it apart and test/troubleshoot every microscopic inch but I'm not going to waste any more of my time. So yeah, I messed with it for several hours (with a smart phone and a PC). No luck. So it's basically junk. No surprise there. That's exactly why I always try to buy stuff directly from (or fulfilled by) Amazon. With this camera, I was on and off the phone with Amazon in 3 minutes and had a full refund. Plus they said just throw the item in the trash. So no trip to the post office to return it either. Nice! I've read reviews by people who did not buy from Amazon or 'Fulfilled by Amazon' and when they got junk, they never got any money back and/or never received a repaired item back (after sending it off to China for repair/replacement). Sending things back to China is a waste of time! Most times they just stall until the warranty or refund time limit is up and refuse any more help or communication after that - even if they received it within the refund period. ALWAYS buy from Amazon or at least make sure they are the one fulfilling the item. Otherwise, if you receive junk, you've done nothing more than donate free money to China. Btw, the two 5-star reviews here (from Aug 2017) are totally FAKE! Caveat Emptor!

I didn't think this camera was going to be much because of it's price, but I was pleasantly surprised. It works very well and is very handy when attached to a fish tape or coat hanger or something. The instructions are not very clear, but a quick Google search and it'll let you know what's up with it. So the network it is on requires a password to get into. Nothing is mentioned in the instructions but it's "12345678". And the network is a weird combination of letters and numbers but you'll get it. As a matter of fact, I bought 4 of them and gave some as gifts.

The wifi would not work with my Android phone, a Moto E4 running 7.1, but I was able to get it working on a Fire tablet.The android app is bad. It has a few on screen buttons, none of which are labeled. It does not give you any error messages or anything to help you troubleshoot problems. You get a black screen in the app, and it may or may not eventually start showing a picture.The camera works fine via USB with Windows 10. I didn't need to install any additional software or drivers. It shows up in the Windows 10 Camera app, and VLC can also see it when it's connected via USB. It doesn't come with any software to use the camera with Windows over wifi.

For $12 you can stop envying your proctologist and his toys.I did have a problem with the two identical micro USB ports, one for the camera and the other for the charger. Figured it out which is which.

Poor quality image

I revived this and opened it, followed the instructions step by step, all it gave me was a gray screen and nothing else.
