RINGS (Ring (Paperback))

This is a great book. It is just the first book of the trilogy. If you're looking for the first book then you have found the right page. thought when the title says the ring trilogy and was called ringS, that it would be a omnibus of the 3 novels (ring, spiral, loop). It is not. It is just the first book. Im writing this review, so no one else will make that mistake.

Good read. The book itself came in a very nice condition. The story itself is very compelling and I enjoy it

I love Japanese horror films and books and Koji Suzuki of Ju-On (Butchered by H-Wood as The Grudge) fame does not disappoint although don't expect it to match in any way Naomo Watts in The Ring.

Although this book was released at the same time as the “Rings" (a.k.a. Ring 3) movie in 2017, this book is confusingly actually the original Ring novel by Suzuki Koji. While I loved the original Japanese Ring movie, it’s hard to enjoy Suzuki’s book, as his prose is fairly purple, and his storytelling erratic. For fans of the film, the story also paints a picture of a character who's in the movie, Takayama Ryuji, in a totally different way - he’s actually one of the least sympathetic characters I’ve come across in any book, and definitely the least sympathetic of a full cast of non-sympathetic characters in this book.The most interesting thing about the book is the investigations in to Sadako and her mother, you get a greater sense of the person she was. I haven't really got it yet because I haven't ordered it but I don't know what to rate it if it's true that this is only the 1st book I mean it looks good but why is it the 1st book if it says the trilogy This could be considered false advertisement

I have seen a couple of tv shows/movies based on this book - so I wasn't sure if I would like the book. It was amazingPlot line:A mysterious videotape warns that the viewer will die in one week unless a certain, unspecified act is performed. Exactly one week after watching the tape, four teenagers die one after another of heart failure.Asakawa, a journalist, finds the tape while researching the event of 4 teens who die mysteriously. He of course watches the tape - and realizes he will die in one week, unless.... the teens had taped over the part about what he was supposed to do! He doesn't know what he is supposed to do.... the book is his search for what he is supposed to do

Quando assisti pela primeira vez "O Chamado", na versão original japonesa, eu percebi que ainda havia muito a ser explorado no gênero do horror, e que 99% do que nós produzimos aqui, no Ocidente, é um rabisco perto do que os japoneses estavam produzindo do lado de lá. Assim que eu descobri que o filme era adaptação de um livro, a vontade de ler o dito cujo veio com força. Eu passei meses "namorando" ele na Amazon, por causa do preço, até que tomei coragem e comprei.A minha experiência com Ring (apesar do título da edição ser Rings, este é o nome original) foi a melhor possível. Não é um livro que se esforça pra te assustar, pra te fazer olhar debaixo da cama. Sadako não é uma "vilã" que você vai ter medo de encontrar no espelho do banheiro. Arrisco dizer que é uma obra com uma profundidade insondável, que usa o horror como linguagem pra propor análises complexas de assuntos dos mais diversos. Falando assim parece maçante, não é? Eu juro que é o oposto!Ring é um livro de leitura fácil e fluída (mesmo para quem tem pouco conhecimento do inglês). Não existe um único capítulo arrastado ali dentro, a linguagem é simples e objetiva, as descrições se limitam ao mínimo necessário para a compreensão e alguns detalhes estrategicamente posicionados para incentivar a ambientação. As análises de que falei se dão gradualmente, conforme vamos descobrindo (junto com o protagonista) a natureza dessa "maldição". A reflexão é construída pouco a pouco.Mesmo tendo visto o filme (que é bem diferente em muitos aspectos), foi uma experiência pra lá de satisfatória! Obrigado, meu Eu do passado, por ter comprado os dois livros seguintes no mesmo pedido da Amazon!Se estiverem em dúvida sobre o investimento, como eu estava, confiem em mim: Comprem! Si algo destaca a la literatura asiática contemporánea es la casualidad; y de esta manera es cómo comienza la historia y se desarrolla, "aderezada" con toques de suspenso y novela de misterio, no por algo esta novela en su país fue un boom y propició las adaptaciones de Ringu y posteriormente a The Ring - de este lado de occidente -, si te gusta el suspenso - y estás interesado en conocer la obra que ha inspirado las adaptaciones mencionadas - vale la pena clavarse en esta novela fácil de leer - aun en inglés - pero no por ello aburrida, pues te atrapa desde sus primeras páginas.

Assegno le tre stelle perché la copertina del libro mi è giunta rovinata. Un vero peccato leggerlo in inglese, ma è un libro che non potevo non avere nella mia personalissima libreria
