I had to come back and take this 3 star review down to one star. In addition to the issues listed below, it is also very slippery. The original product grips, you don't feel at all as though you might slide. I almost wiped out on the newer stuff after I wrote the review below:I would have given this a five-star review, because it is a great solution for renters, but they changed the quality of the product. I bought this product in July 2017. It came wrapped around a sturdy cardboard tube that was three or so inches in diameter. The product itself had some weight to it.It had the black PVC backing, and was just as described. It was also easy to handle, and very forgiving. I put it down on my dingy vinyl tile floor. It looked great, held up really well, and made a huge difference in my kitchen.In November, we had to move the fridge and my helper did not pick up the front end enough and tore the floor covering in a couple of places. So I ordered another roll.The second roll came and I was expecting the color to be a bit different, which of course it was, but not enough to be noticeable. However, it no longer has the black PVC backing. So it is lighter, very sticky and harder to handle. It also came in a very tight roll, no cardboard tube. The tight roll matters because it leaves little horizontal creases that go in about an inch or so along both edges, for about half of the roll.Looking closely, I can see that at each crease,the thin plastic covering is coming off of the printed paper underneath.Also, in the original rolls, the printing would sometimes be off about a 16th of an inch on either side of the strip, and it would show the black color of the PVC backing. This was not a problem, because it blended right in with the wood grain. Without the PVC blacking, this strip now shows as white, which really stands out. I will have to trim it off or something.I have done plenty of tile work, and would not have bothered with this stuff but for the fact that I am renting right now and needed something easy, cheap, and removable. I was pleasantly surprised by the first product, even impressed with it. It totally fit the bill. I would have happily paid more for it if the price went up a dollar or two. But or even five. They are not selling the same product now. It really kind of annoys me that someone took this perfectly good solution to a typical renter's problem and messed it up to the point that it is unusable. How does that make anyone any money?

Wasnt the color I was expecting and not as gray in tone as I had hoped for but like the concept anyway!

Great for home renting. Used on my bathroom floors and back splash the kitchen. Makes upgrading affordable and modern.

I used to make a treasure chest for a Valentine's box. It worked perfectly.
