Good for what it does
I have been having misfires and wanted to find out which plug was the problem, the unit plugs into the car, boots up and reads the codes, it erases (turns of the indicator light on dash), tell the vin number, and let's you know if all systems are ready. However, I had a sensor/wheel bearing/traction control/abs error that lit up the abs, traction control, and repair drive train lights on the dash and the unit could not find the error, fortunately my mechanics expensive one did, but for simple check engine light problem this unit does a fine job

Ive been having a cylinder two misfire (I know this because of my new reader) I changed the plugs, light came back on, changed the plug wires, light comes back on, so then I changed the solenoid. That's three code reads for under 20 dollars. Half the price of one code read at pep boys. This a tool you dread having to use but I'm glad I have it.

Does what is expected
Product displays and clears codes as advertised. I have been able to clear codes on my 2001 Ford, but confirmed it can communicate with 2007 F150 and 2012 Journey. Would recommend to anyone who needs to retrieve codes for troubleshooting since local auto parts store will not rent them out anymore (O'Reilly's!).

crapped out on me after like 9 months
crapped out on me after like 9 months. No warning or reason, it just failed to turn on one day. This is the second time I've bought this specific model and the last one died around the same age so I am suspecting its not an uncommon issue.

Easy to use
I was in the process of buying a used car and did not want to buy somebody else's problems. This code scaner made it easier. It was easy to use, it found 2 codes. I went online to look for the meaning of the codes.

How did I not know that diagnosing my check engine light was so easy??? Seriously... so many wasted trips to get cars diagnosed. This was super easy.

This devise is not compatible with my Dodge 2008 Nitro. It is advertised to work on all OBD2 1996 or newer.
