I was recently diagnosed with inguinal hernia and living in Wales, where waiting times for treatment are longer, I thought I might as well give one of these support belts a try. I have to say I was pretty sceptical but for the price I was prepared to take a gamble. In the end I have been pleasantly surprised by the efficacy and comfort of this product. Furthermore, as Hayes Medicus claim, it doesn't show beneath normal clothing (well nobody has mentioned it, not even my wife!)The only little gripe is that in the product blurb Hayes Medicus lead with the emphasis on ease of use etc. To be fair it is easy to use but the the accompanying instructions state"Attention! This belt should only be used under medical supervisionThe hernia belt can be used in a hospital, clinic, or home environment by an individual trained in techniques of reducing inguinal hernias"

My husband found the support belt easy to fit and comfortable to wear. We were on holiday in Spain for 3 weeks ending 16 September. My husband wore the belt each day over his underpants and suffered no discomfort or pain at all from the hernia. Before acquiring the support belt he was enduring discomfort and pain daily. So 10 out of 10 for the effectiveness of the belt. Prior to knowing of the existence of this support belt my husband saw his GP, a long serving and excellent doctor, with regard to the pain he was suffering. He was advised that a purpose made "truss" would be expensive and take some time to acquire. So this "off the peg" support may not be known to all doctors. Furthermore your instructions for use of the belt may indicate fitting under medical supervision. This could cause some doctors not to recommend should anything go wrong. With hindsight a size LARGER might have been better for a 36 Hto 38 inch waist. 19 October 2013 Mr D.F.C

Firstly, it arrived a week before the estimated delivery date, on Standard Delivery! Good start!I did find that the under-leg straps were too long to allow me to adjust them so that the pads were nice and snug on the 'affected area', so my wife shortened them both by 2 inches on the plain bit behind the Velcro, and now it's really snug and comfortable, and still adjustable. (Maybe I should have bought a smaller size.)I wear it over my pants so as to avoid any chafing from the fabric, and I take it off and put it on as is, rather than undoing it and doing it up again.I wear it all day, and I hardly know it's there; really comfortable and effective. An excellent buy, and I'm well pleased. I'd highly recommend it to anyone with a similar problem.

It is comfortable to wear all day, including when I'm playing tennis, and unnoticeable under clothes. It is possible to swop the pads from left to right and by reversing them provide a flat support which I find more comfortable.One grumble is that the side Velcro fittings peel back and come undone easily, especially when on the toilet. My answer is to have one side sewn in place and use a very large hook and eye to hold the other firm.

A quality product that provides support and relief. Re-fitting belt after using the toilet is initially difficult but improves with practice. Product is recommended.Having worn the product daily for over 3 months, I now find that the Velcro tends to become detached and thus fails to hold the belt in place. I suggest that a button and buttonholes are added to provide backup.

I've been wearing this support belt for three months whilst waiting for my hernia operation. A little cumbersome to put on everyday but it 'does what it says on the tin'! Life can carry on as normal wearing this belt; I decided to leave it off one day recently and I was in such pain by the end of the day I could hardly stand up straight! Don't suffer hernia pain - wear this belt! Well worth the money, but still get yourself booked in for an operation!!

Very prompt delivery.Well made and effective product for my double hernia whilst awaiting an operation.But, the pads have a tendency to move up out of their pouches, so I tacked the openings (just a cotton tack which can be easily removed at a future date if required) to stop this movement.

An excellent product. Without it I would have had to spend nearly all my time sitting or lying down, with painful interludes when fed up with that. With it I have been able to carry on more or less normally while waiting for my operation. Putting it on properly takes a bit of practice, but you get the hang of it after a few days. Buyers should note that the sizing guide refers to size around the hips and NOT the waist, though in my case that fortunately made no difference in practice.
