Good for now
Just used for 48 hours, & happy to see the resolution doesn't affect at all in equality.A bit costly but a effective product. One HDMI cable must provide by the manufacturer, becausewhile connection two in one, then I found a HDMI cable short, have to rush to market.Otherwise a good product.

Great product !
Great product to extended you media ports in a congested area. Price is a bit high but, for quality and service you can go for if it is a device that’s fits your requirement.

Many Devices, One Monitor- Buy It! (Review based on long term usage.)
The Kinivo 501BN is the perfect solution for someone who has multiple devices and just one monitor/TV.I have 4 devices with HDMI outputs but space for only one monitor/TV at the desk. I used to swap the HDMI cables between the devices but it was a big nuisance and the ports as well as cables could be damaged. After buying the Kinivo 501BN, it's much more convenient to switch the display for multiple devices.Note-I received the New and Improved Version of the 501BN which has the ability to disable auto switching and also supports 4K. Thanks to Kinivo and the seller- "BlueRigger India"Also-The other reviews mention problems with switching time and poor range of remote. I experienced none of it whatsoever. In fact, I was more than happy with the remote, it has a good range and you don't have to point the IR blaster directly or near to the IR receiver on the switch. In my Case, the remote worked even when held almost perpendicular to line of sight (I also doubt, how?). The Switching takes 2 seconds at most (The screen displays solid green in the bottom half while switching, which is kind of annoying, but that maybe unique to my TV and not a problem in anyway).Pros.-1)Works great even for intensive gaming(I've tested only for 1080p [1920 X 1080] Resolution ).2)You can use multiple devices at once.( Like downloading something on the pc and checking it regularly by switching while gaming on your console).3)Doesn't have a power switch( which is also a con).4)Small form Factor.5)Value for Money.Cons-1)It doesn't have a power switch which means it directly turns off as you turn the main power off. I don't know if it was intended to work that way or not but I must mention that there were no problems or performance issues due to that.2) You cannot completely hide it as the IR receiver needs to be exposed for the remote to work. This may bother some people who want cleaner looks for their setup. Although the switch looks pretty decent.3)Cable Management- This is inevitable and probably the only compromise you'll be making.Overall, if you have multiple devices(say a laptop for work and gaming pc at home), less space, only one display and buying multiple monitors isn't an option (compromising little productivity). Then look no further and go for the Kinivo HDMI Switches.(I cannot guarantee, you'll have the same satisfying experience like me, it depends on how Kinivo maintains their product quality, which I hope will only get better.)

4K HDR Dolby Vision Dolby Atmos in one
Really good product this. I’m running Sky Q, Apple TV 4K and also Xbox one X. Passes through 4K Dolby vision and HDR fine and also Dolby Arnos. The only issue I’m having at the moment is after about 10 minutes watching Sky Q 4K the picture goes off, I think this is a Sky issue rather than the switch though as the Apple TV and Xbox work fine. Box is nice an sturdy and comes well packaged too. The only downside is that the power is on the left of the device and the output is on the right of the device with the 4 inputs round the back. This does make it a little tricky to have in your entertainment cabinet without it looking abit unsightly. Overall though happy with the product. If you appreciated this review then please click the helpful button, it allows us to keep reviewing products like this for you.

Works really well.
We recently changed our sound setup to a sound bar rather than amp for a cleaner look. This meant without the amp we lost a lot of ways to connect HDMI cables . Even if your TV has 4 HDMI inputs you loose one for the bar and soon find yourself short when you kids have multiple devices. Before this I tried a £3 special on Amazon and along with others all these devices seem hit and miss for the most part. Spending £35 on a switcher seems overkill. But so far it’s been solid and as the tech person in the house I need it to work for everyone hassle free.We run an XBOX ONE, BLU RAY and Laptop when needed so far all have performed as they should and best of all the need for the remote so far has been none. The auto switch works on this device! The lights on the unit are bright but as it sits behind our soundbar they are not too visible. It comes with a power adaptor which for me was a bit frustrating as a lack of free power sockets with all the devices as above. You can however buy a Type “M” barrel to USB lead also sold on Amazon you can power via USB. Why can’t more manufacturers provide this our gang socket has two free USB sockets and given the power this draws its ideal. Also so far using this not issues. So far this device is doing a great I will report back should this fail before at least a year.If you found my review helpful please click the “Helpful” button below, Thank you

Would be great if it worked all the time
This HDMI switcher appears to be well made and had two features that were important to me - auto switching can be disabled and it can be controlled by a Harmony remote. My first disappointment came when I found it would not work with my Fire TV 4k stick - no picture or sound when connecting the Fire TV to the Kinivo. My second disappointment came when I found that every now and again (about once an hour) the Kinivo would cut-out, giving me a black screen for several seconds before the picture and sound came back. This is awful if you're watching live sport. On one occasion the box has crashed, giving me a screen full of white noise that was only remedied by unplugging the power. I've visited the Kinivo web site and tried the many things they suggest to fix problems (so many things that it makes you realise the device has many faults that have been reported by many buyers) but no improvement so I will be returning it.

Almost perfect
I had quickly used the available 2.2 HDMI sockets on my AV receiver and had been looking for a suitable HDMI switch. The Kinivo 550BN allows you to connect up to 5 HDMI devices to one HDMI socket. It handles 4K, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision and eARC. It’s small, similar size to an external hard drive and can be installed with minimal skill following the comprehensive instructions. In the box you get:1 x Kinivo 550BN unit1 x Power adapter (includes a Euro plug too)1 x instruction manual1 x Remote controlIt took me around 20 minutes to install the unit into my home cinema system. However, more simpler installations , between a source, the Kinivo and a display would be quicker. That being said, the Kinvo has one really big and frustrating feature, the placement of the sockets on the side of the unit. To the rear of the unit are 4 HDMI sockets, a further socket on the left side and a further socket and the power input on the other side. This may seem okay initially, but it makes finding a suitable location and cable management very difficult. I would rather the unit be slightly wider to allow all sockets be on the rear of the device. The instructions are very clear, even explaining why certain devices cannot use the auto switching function will not work. The auto-switching function means the unit switches between devices automatically, removing the need to use the remote control.I have placed the Kinivo between my Sky Q, a 4K blu ray player and 4K AV receiver. I was pleased to discover that the Kinvo allowed pass through (signals pass through the AV receiver without it powered on) and switched quickly between the two devices. Using good quality, branded HDMI cables I did not notice any degradation in picture quality. When I powered the Amp on, the Kinvo continued to work and automatically switched between devices. I played a movie via SkyQ and it was delivered in UHD with a Dolby+ (Atmos) sound. Switching to watch a blu ray, all sound formats, TrueHD, DTSHD, Atmos ect, played perfectly. It might be coincidence, but when watching Sky, the picture does appear to have become more defined with the Kinvo, however, that may just be coincidence. To conclude, the Kinvo BN550 is a cracking HDMI switch. It’s good value for money and I recommend it highly.ProsSmall unit/footprint5 inputs4K UHD, 18Gbps, Dolby Atmos,Dolby Vision, ARC & Pass throughEasy to set up and operate.ConsLocation of HDMI sockets making cable management and positioning the unit difficult.

Works great with Samsung Q950T Soundbar
So far this switcher (model 550BN) has been great to use with a Samsung Q950T soundbar. Since the soundbar can only have 2 HDMI inputs directly and I do not have a TV that supports eARC I was hoping that this switcher would be able to effectively add more ports that would be able to pass through uncompressed audio formats. In addition to this I was hoping to be able to leave the soundbar on HDMI1 input permanently and let the switcher do the work. Upon testing so far it ticks both boxes. My set up is as follows:PS5, Xbox Series X, Sky Q, Chromecast Ultra, Nintendo Switch > HDMI Switch > HDMI1 on Samsung Q950T > HDMI2 (ARC) on TV.Out of these devices the PS5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch are the only devices that support uncompressed audio formats such as LPCM and all three seem to be working great so far, also passing Dolby Vision and Atmos. When it comes to auto switching the manual states that some devices such as games consoles do not support auto switching but my experience contradicts this as every single device that I have mentioned above has auto switched when tested and it was surprisingly quick at doing so.My only negative would be a nitpick really in that the remote is flimsy and cheap but that’s par for the course really as all these type of devices provide a similar remote. In conclusion, this is an early doors review that is all positive from me, I will update in the future should I run into any issues that need to be mentioned but I can’t foresee that happening based on my experience to date.
