Complex but doable as a family project.
It is a complex detailed project and very difficult for the younger end of the age specification. It can be completed as a family project with adult/parent supervision and participation.Completion as a family project does give the whole family a strong sense of pride and bonding experience.

Fun build with personality
We bought this Wall-E replica robot for our 12 year old son who loves Lego. He said the pieces remind him of Lego Technic. It took him about an hour and a half to complete.The little eyes have a bunch of expressions. Its also easy to operate and easily charged. The arms dont move but you can pose them in different ways.Great quality and a lot of fun!

Complicated but fun
I bought this kit for my son who is on the younger side for this set, but I figured we'd build it together. This was complicated enough that it quickly became a dad only build. The build was very detail oriented and you'll have to stare a lot to figure out what orientation they really want you to put some of these parts together. The wiring for the eyes is so short that it actually puts some tilt onto the robots head.After the build was complete, I turned it over to my son who had a blast with it for a few hours and I got the cool dad points that I wanted.

Absolutely wonderful
Bought for 9 y/old grandson. Took 2 days, multiple hours to put together. So much fun. Instructions and diagrams well done. Works beautifully. Eyes move and robot "talks". Amazing fun. Highly recommend.

Terrible instructions
Microscopic illustrations with no part number to match the glossary that’s on the back. Too many parts are barely illustrated in the instructions. If only they put the numbers next to each part. You can get through this in an hour. Since they didn’t it took me 4 hours to get through 7 - 8 pages (32 steps) (4 steps per page).
