I now have two versions of this hat: one I bought two years ago and one I bought last week. The two-year-old hat is the best hat I own. In contrast, the one-week-old hat looks somewhat silly on me.The difference has to do with the ventilation flaps. On my two-year-old hat, the ventilation flaps lie flat against my head. On my one-week-old hat, the ventilation flaps stick out on each side like little wings.Posted below are pictures of my two hats. The picture of the one-week-old hat does not fully capture how silly it looks on me in real life.

Been ordering this hat for years. Last couple of times ordered had to send it back because sewing was so off that the brim was off center and the flaps stick out. They must have gotten a new manufacturer or somethings because the quality has declined significantly. Not acceptable for a $30 cap. Poor, poor workmanship

I am "hair challenged" as in Seriously Bald. The sun is my enemy. Fortunately, Sunday Afternoons hats have come to the rescue. I particularly like this model and have several just in case I leave one behind somewhere. It's a terrific hat - light and comfortable. I'm hooked on Sunday Afternoons and my head - and dermatologist - are much happier for it

I where this hat all the time. The fit is nice and the material is great. I hand wash it in the sink and it is dry in no time. The folding brim makes it possible to stick in your pocket when you don't want to wear it. This is my second Sun Day Afternoons hat. The last one lasted me several years of steady use and abuse. There is a little plastic piece that you should be a little careful with on the adjustment system which I broke on my last one. No fault of the hat and I am sure I could fix it without too much trouble.

I always insist that my 2-year-old wear a hat when playing outside. My husband also always wears a hat. Aside from the obvious benefit of sun protection, I was starting to feel guilty about my do as I say not as I do example. I hate hats. They are uncomfortable, mess up my hair, never work properly with a ponytail, and look goofy. I tried on many hats at my local REI, and this is the only one that fit. I bought it here because rei didn't have the color I wanted.This hat is comfortable, actually works well with a ponytail (miraculous), and looks good. I've gotten many compliments and two people have already told me they plan to buy one too. The built-in folding brim is also surprisingly convenient. You can fold this hat up and put it anywhere without messing it up - purse, back pocket, diaper bag.I have the slate color. The trim matches the hat color, so it does not scream I'm a super sun hat.

Easy, breezy cap with good sun protection. Very lightweight and vented with good coverage for this style of cap. I have hats that offer more coverage or more of the cuteness factor but this is the one that sits by the car keys, near the front door for grabbing when heading out on errands or a quick walk. Nicely constructed. I recommend this cap to friends and family and to all of you looking to save yourself from sun damage because, hey, skin cancer is the opposite of cool so stay safe.

First of all the color is not black, it is grey. Second item of note is that the large size is huge. The size is not anywhere in the item description and so left me guessing but it is clear from the item I got that it was designed for really big heads.

I have hats from this brand and several styles but this is one of my favorites. The foldable brim makes it easy to tuck away anywhere and grab when you want it. This style is vented and that feels so good in hot sticky weather. One reason I'm such a big fan of these hats is that the hat having SPF helps keep my hair color from fading!

It folds so I always have it with me, but it looks so good - a unique style - that I always get compliments. The secret vents on the top are excellent for hiking. The hat also washes easily - I just throw it in with a regular load of clothes. I wish it came in more colors.

Amazingly light material, feels very comfortable on, and excellent sun protection. Fits my 22" head well in a Medium, adjusting up or down depending on what my hair is doing that day. I don't think it's super flattering on me but that of course is quite individual. Only knocking off a star because the ponytail hole is barely adequate and I feel the fastener might lose its grip over time/with washing.

I thought it might fit weird since it's foldable. That actually didn't affect the fit at all. It was the vents on the side that made the material stick out when I put it on. Looked strange.

Best hat I've (25) ever owned! I've only ever owned a few hats in my life, I've never been a big hat person until I noticed my hair was thinning near my crown recently. This hat is breathable, lightweight, and it folds nicely into my sling backpack. It washes easily too. I highly recommend Sunday Afternoons for their excellent quality and value.

Replacing a lost / stolen cap. Replaced exactly the same because you can’t beat the lightweight and comfortable cap like this one!
