We bought these so could stop being a helicopter mom and let my kiddo wander in our tiny neighborhood with the other kids. He felt empowered because he could check in without coming home, and I didn’t panic when he wouldn’t answer after I’ve yelled for him on each corner of our block.Just throw away the “rechargeable” batteries. They won’t work anyway. But there’s no obnoxious static or ear splitting click each time.They were also great for camping when half of us wander in the woods and the other half stay at camp.Because they are so small they fit really well in his tiny hands too. And the belt clip is strong so he can slip it on his pocket and just play.

My little guy has been having hours of fun with these walkies. He loves to pretend and sneak around being various heroes and bad guys. I like that I can radio him and don't have to go up and down the stairs or out searching in the yard for him. These seem to have a long lasting battery life and a decent range. We've used them only for in the neighborhood so far (definitely less than a mile) but they came in great. I think the value is good for the price, too.

The walkie talkies are great. Unfortunately the chargers stopped working about 2 months after purchase. We can use new batteries so it isn't an issue but it was disappointing to lose the charging feature. More disappointing that I emailed customer service and never received a reply.

Bought this for my son for his birthday and so we can keep track of him while he is playing outside with his friends. I was excited that the walkies would let me communicate with him when u need him to check in or when it's time to come home . I am very disappointed that it does not work in residential areas, the houses block the signal and all you'll get is static even when it's just 3 houses away. In open field about a block or two away, it does work great and very clear. Then again it doesn't work in residential areas. I would return it but he ripped open the box in excitement. 😐

Purchased these for off-road trips, they are brightly colored so they are easy to spot while driving. First use was on the beach, didn't have much distance between the vehicles but the sound was crystal clear. Second time they were used in the woods and the sound was still clear (again, not getting more than a half mile between the vehicles).Hold down the button to talk for one-two seconds before speaking, as many of our conversations were lacking a beginning.***I recommend reading the booklet and becoming very familiar with the functions or bring the manual with you if you are out and about. My two year old got a hold of one and turned on a function that allowed our other party to hear EVERYTHING. We could not receive a response from them, but they had to listen to us for an hour before turning off the walkies. Great function for a baby monitor when traveling!***

I bought this set for my 4 year old granddaughter. I bought a bigger set for the boys and was a little concerned that she might feel left out. To my pleasant surprise, the handsets were perfect for smaller hands, well constructed, and had excellent reception. Cannot speak to battery life yet, but I would bet that it will be good.. Big hit at Christmas! Fun teaching her "Over" "What's your 20?" Next year, maybe we will move on to Morse Code. Great figuring out fun ways to communicate with these precious grandchildren.

They are smaller than I expected, but that actually turned out better. They have a long range on them, so my som takes one outside when he plays and I just talk to him that way. He can just slide it into his pocket and he’s good to go. Sound is clear and easy to use
