GM LS-Series Engines:The Complete Swap Manual (Motorbooks Workshop)

I really liked the list of engines and which vehicles they came in. Makes looking in the junkyard or Pick-a-Part much easier.

This is my only complaint, the Title. The book is as complete as a general information type could be, a truly 'complete swap manual would have to be specific to one vehicle and one engine. this one gives excellent general info about the many different LS type GM motors and is perfect for getting started. Recommended as a first read prior to planning an engine replacement project, lots of great advice on which engine suits the readers needs and vehicle. Lots of suggestions as to getting more specifics as the project moves ahead. Lots of info regarding transmission issues too!

This has been a great comprehensive manual for an LS swap into my 73 Monte Carlo. This has been the single best source for information that I have come across yet. Makes it easy and interesting to learn about the differences in the LS platform motors and how to make power on a budget. Lots of interchangeability information and parts sources listed. Worth its' weight in gold!

Good reference to have although I seem to be able to get just as much info with Internet searches.

Good book, I preferred it slightly more than the book "Chevy LS Engine Conversion Handbook", this one went into a little more detail and provided more examples.

Good primer on LS engines. As some reviews said it is not a step by step guide to cover every swap or even a full one. I have made me aware of what I will potentially be getting into. Good Book.

Provides a comprehensive overall perspective of the swap process. Combined with the various information sources on the internet it provides a sound foundation of knowledge to tackle swap projects no matter the vehicle. Definitely worth the investment.

Great companion to first book also has updated info to make the swap easier updated wiring and more aftermarket companies with support products. Starting to get together everything I need for second swap!!!!

A very informative book!

Received my book a couple of days ago (from Amazon) and read the entire thing. Absolutely fantastic amount of information from the author, who very obviously knows his subject inside out. Every little obscure piece of information that you could want is in here. The whole book, from writing, the information, the excellent pictures, even the paper the book is printed on is superb. I'm doing an LS into a '35 Chevy and this will save me a HUGE amount of time. BTW, the review might say this is by Erica, but it's not, it's written by Keith Elliott. Highly recommended if you want to know anything about the LS series of engines.

Great book. Answers a lot of questions. A bit short on harness modification and reprogramming but that subject is covered quite extensively on the internet. It would require a huge book to cover it. Gives a good incentive to install an LS engine in my 52 Cadillac.

love this book very helpful when you want to swap an engine.Must have for the do it yourself mechanic.
