Really helps
I had my right hip replaced five years ago, and the surgery went so poorly that I suffer from PTSD from it, so I have put off having the second surgery. Now it has gotten so bad, it hurts and I can barely walk. Therefore, I bought this to help stabilize my bad hip and it really helps. For reference, I am 71, 5ft 4in, and weight 150. I have adjusted this brace so I can bend at the knee.

Not helps if you have a belly or your legs have same circumference all the way down to your knee!
It will not help if you have a belly and you are an elderly man with skinny legs.No matter how strong you tie together every thing, it slides down. The adjustments are very good so it will be helpful if you are skinny and look like in their picture. The manufacturer will have to attach to it a belt that will wrap over the opposite shoulder to keep it from sliding down.most people have legs thick on top and thinner at the knee, so it slides down. Otherwise it is excellent built.I suggest the manufacturer add an additional belt higher up to prevent sliding

Instantaneous, glorious EDS hip relief
I honestly have no idea how I ever managed without this. It’s a must for EDS hips. All of the half dozen soft braces I’ve tried made injuries and pain worse. This brace is literally the ONLY brace that has ever helped.

A post surgery savior!
I got this for my mother and it has been a lifesaver for her recovery from a hip surgery. The brace is made of high quality materials and is very durable and comfortable to wear. One of the features I appreciate most about this brace is the level of support it provides. It helps to stabilize her hip and protect it from any accidental movements that could cause further injury. The compression support is also very effective at reducing swelling and discomfort. She has been wearing this brace daily as directed by the doctor and it has made a huge difference in her recovery process. It has helped my mom to regain my mobility and strength, and I am confident that it is playing a crucial role in my overall healing.Overall, I highly recommend the Orthomen Hip Abduction Brace to anyone who has undergone a hip surgery or is experiencing hip instability. It is a high quality and effective product that has exceeded my expectations.

It really does make a difference
I have problems with my hip and hamstring making it very painful to work. Immediately, I could feel the support. It fits snug around me. I actually felt a bounce in my step.

In the hospital a device like this cost way too much glad I found this one.
Bought for my Pops post-op hip surgery replacement as the cost of a brace in the hospital was in the thousands range for a device like this.Helps with stability standing however not convenient squatting or bending having to adjust this device you need a tool to loosen the bolts on it first beforehand. I hoped it was more flexible but it seems to be best when not having to bend at the hip otherwise you'll carry around a small adjustment tool, not convenient at all. After the replacement surgery, he never used it. He ended up using a wheelchair which was more helpful and got around faster without any troubles.

Strong and robust brace, very comfortable, easily adjustable, on par with $1K-$2K ones.
This is a lot cheaper than the $1,000 to $2,000 that my hospital charges for nearly the same brace. I decided to try it out because my insurance didn't cover a new hip brace once my old one gave up. And I like it much better than my old one from the hospital. It is sturdy, the abdomen brace and the leg brace are made of stiff white plastic with soft padding inside. The upper and lower braces are securely interconnected with an all-metal arm. The arm hinge is fully adjustable allowing you to set the min/max angle and it is allowed to bend. Six locking bolts position limit hip flexion from 0° to 100° (0°, 20°, 40°, 60°, 80°, 100°). The 3mm hex key for this adjustment is included in the package. Both braces have a thick neoprene/nylon band with Velcro and buckles allowing you to adjust for almost any body size and shape. When you properly put it on and adjust it to your liking it feels secure and comfortable. The distance between the top and bottom braces and the arm's hinge can be adjusted as well. When it arrived, the top and bottom braces were not fully screwed to the metal arm and there was a 4mm hex key included for adjustment as well along with 3mm hex key. It's amazingly simple to do by losing two bolts on each brace and sliding it on the arm groove up and down until the correct position is found. Then just tighten the bolts and you are good to go.This brace will give you more stability overall but it's not comfortable when you squat or bend over. To adjust this device to do it more comfortably, you need a tool to loosen the screws first. I would have liked it to be more flexible but adjusting it every time with a tool is too much hassle. It seems best not to have to bend over. Otherwise, you'll be carrying around a small hex key all the time that isn't very convenient.*** TL;DR ***Yes, I most definitely recommend this budget friendly hip brace that's on par with medical devices your hospital or doctor would gladly sell you for thousands of dollars. It's very well made from sturdy plastic braces, neoprene/nylon bands and an all-metal support arm. Everything is very flexible and adjustable and provides great hip support. It's easy to put on and adjust and very comfortable to wear. There is a minor issue with bending over but otherwise it's great. Solid 5 stars!+++ Pros +++1) Robust and rigid construction.2) Highly adjustable in every place.3) Fits most body shapes and sizes.4) Both abdomen and leg brace are padded.5) All-metal support arm and hinge.6) Hinge max/min angle can be adjusted.7) Length and position of the arm can be adjusted.--- Cons ---1) Bending over with the brace on is problematic.
