I take this supplement for treating Interstitial Cystitis and it works well to rebuild the lining of my bladder. I had stopped taking them but feel I need it ongoing. Seems to take about 6 months to work, BUT, the alternative was a drug that would cost me $300/mo., which I would have to take for 6 mos. to a yr. for it to work....if it even did AND would cause my hair to fall out in patches, So I will stick with this for certain.

My son has a rare genetic condition and NAG has been shown to reverse the main symptom of inability to cry tears and keep eyes moist. We usually buy Jarrow but they ran out everywhere. I bought these because they’re capsules and can be dumped into applesauce. They don’t work. For the first time since we started supplementation, he started complaining of eye pain and had trouble sleeping because of the pain. His digestion also was affected (this helps with it, or should).We had given him every dose of this brand of NAG but it was clear it wasn’t working. I realized after that this is vegan and the Jarrow and other brands are derived from shellfish.We bought bulk supplements NAG powder and no more issues. Sleeping fine and no eye pain/complaints and digestion back to normal.Based on our experience I’m quite sure these don’t work as intended. I think you lose out on efficacy with the vegan sourcing- whatever that is since it doesn’t say how they derive it, just vegan.I suppose we could have increased the dose to see if it would improve but we would be doubling his usual dose and I didn’t want to mess around with it and potentially cause harm.
