Does not fit yamaha!!!
The product it self looks good, but it does not fit the base. Even though I read the reviews and I still made the mistake of buying this product. I thought that after so many reviews they would fix the problem but they haven’t. The base of the motor is to small the the mount and oil seeps through the sides. After taking the time to paint it and installing it, I realized it leaked when I tested the hydraulic. Really bad product would not recommend it as it does not fit properly.

If you're looking to save money this is the one, but heed the warnings and seal it up before you put it on!
After looking at the price tag on OEM Yamaha trim motors, I started looking for other options. Reading posts on The Hull Truth and Great Grady on the topic lead me to find DB Electrical. The reviews said this would get the job done, and suggested that there was no difference between this and the more expensive product from Sierra, so I pulled the trigger on this one. Installed it in May of this year (2015), put my boat in the water, and the pump failed by mid-July. It seemed that water had worked it's way in because I did not heed the advice that it needed to be sealed up to make up for a lack of sealing from the factory (and I was not the only one this happened to - a friend replaced his Yamaha trim motor with this one in March 2015 had his fail by late July 2015 for the same reason). The good news is that even though it was inconvenient to pull my boat and repeat a job I'd just done in May, DB Electrical made the warranty process as painless as possible. I sealed the new one up so we shall see if this one lasts. If you are looking to replace a trim motor on an older Yamaha that probably doesn't justify buying OEM or otherwise looking to save money on the trim motor, and you are both willing to seal it up yourself and willing to take the chance that it still fails this is a good option for you.If ultimately you're looking for peace of mind on the water you may want to look at the OEM.

Fits and works great on Yamaha 225 ox66
Fit perfect on my Yamaha ox66 225 outboard. I took the liberty to paint before installing for added protection as corrosion is usually the cause of death. Time will tell on how long it lasts.

Great product at an awesome price
Worked just as described, direct replacement. Can't comment on the longevity as I've only owned it for a few months.

Nice alternative to the OEM motor.
For the price it was a good deal,.. Doesn't seem as heavy duty as the oem motor but for half the price you would expect that. Have used it only a few days now we will see how it holds up over time.
