I work with very detailed surfaces and these glasses are almost perfect, the perforated forehead piece gets a bit uncomfortable after a number of hours of use, other than this issue which I simply take a break from the headgear for a few minutes then I’m ready to go for hours again.

Shipping took nearly a month, extremely slow. Unit itself is well designed and adjustable for head size, etc. However, once you have the lenses mounted, you cannot completely fold/flip the lens level flat, meaning you either have to set the unit down upside down when not in use (lenses up = bad) OR remove the lenses OR have a hook or something to hang the assembled unit on. The sliding battery compartment is well thought out and engineering tolerances were done well, this does not feel like a cheap unit. What is needed to make this a real hit is A) reduce shipping times B) offer replacement lenses C) alter the design to allow full foldable lenses when not in use (if possible).

you can see the details with this. first you need to figure out what lens to put on. it will depend on your eyesight and what you are working on. there is a light that puts good working light to your focus area. the only thing i have an issue is that its front heavy on me and likes to rest on my nose. i am going to back weight it to balance it out more. its super handy for tiny detail work.

There are lots to choose from, but I wanted this one, from the Adam Savage video. Headband goes around the brow and back of the head, like a hat band, AND over the top of the head, like headphones.Oh, this one costs more than the others, AND shipping isn't free, AND shipping takes a long time. That's OK, I'm willing to pay, in money and in time, for the specific version Adam Savage recommended.And look what shows up. Design has been optimized it seems. New headband doesn't have the headphones-like band across the top of the head, so all weight must be borne by cranking the tension on the band.Not as described.

The shape of the headgear is horrible. I can manage with it, but I'd guess that a lot of people would hate it. The material is not the type that will confirm, so that's almost a deal breaker. Also, more frustrating, it isn't actually magnifying much, what it really does is change the focus. For example, if you want to see some tiny in your hand at reading distance, this doesn't help. What it will do, instead, is allow you to bring the object much closer to your eyes, which is really where the magnification comes from, and the focus will still be far away, so that it's much more comfortable to look at. If you have hard time seeing up close this can really help, and is better for your eyes anyway, but I'm frustrated that I can't just get a zoomed in view, I actually have to bring the object closer to me. This is ok ish for what I'm doing, but knowing this I will be much more careful next time when buying one of these.

I bought these on the advice of Adam Savage ("Mythbusters") who recommends them on his YouTube channel. I agree with his high opinion. The click-in system is very good, lots of lenses with two slots so you can double them. Well done!

Shipped fast but I ordered this with a toothbrush/toothpaste. When I picked up the box it rattled. Upon opening the box I found one piece of brown paper so it was not packed very well. The plastic bag the headlight came in was sealed but some of the lenses were out of the case just flopping around in shipment. This is a great item but it did not come with instructions nor a cleaning cloth.

I bought these magnifiers based on the YouTube review of Adam Savage, who was one of the "Mythbusters." Savage is a "maker" making movie props for Industrial Light and Magic, the prop company for "Star Wars" and for other film makers. These are great. They are very easy to use and they provide a range of small amount of magnification through large amount of magnification. Its built-in light is handy, but as battery-life is limited, I recommend that you purchase AAA rechargeable batteries.
