I am very pleased with my overall experience & more than happy with my new katana. Actual Damascus blade (not acid etched or false damasteel) impressive choji hamon & natural finish (clear coat instead of painted) on saya.Koshirae nice and tightly fit. And this Damascus blade is gorgeous. Its my 1st Damascus piece with a visible clay tempered homon line. Pretty neat. Likely to be my new favorite Katana. Considering ordering a matching Wakizashi, which needs to be custom ordered.Overall the quality and craftsmanship spent in making this sword, easily exceeds the cost I spent on its purchase.Very Impressive

So this is my first sword. So take my review for what it's worth.Pros: You can see the damascus and the hamon. Feels sturdy. Blade is straight and dimension properly. Cording is tight.Cons: brass/copper fitting not evenly designed. See pic. Don't know if this is normal, but you can see the wooden pegs that secure the handle.Variables: came from China and made it to my door under 2 weeks. But will not say that will be your experience. Mine happened to clear customs fairly quickly. Custom's label stated "practice sword", but was sharp, well fitted, and I'm sure if you intend to cut bundle straw or practice with it, it will do fine.Value: as this is my first, I have trouble rating this. Yes, there are more swords of this caliber on Amazon for about 100 less. But this one stated 1060 and 1090 Damascus and clay heat treating for hamon. Simple design, but that is what I was going for. However compared to some of the cheapest listed on Amazon, by description listed, this is way better. Some are spring steel, no hamon or fake. But for 30 or 50 dollars you get what you get. Overall decent value.

Out of all the swords I have purchased I’m am truly amazed at such a sturdy and ready sword for the price. You might could charge more, lol.

Comfortable color as described. Very sharp. Nice hand fit.

For the price this is really nice. It does have some problems though. I took the handle off which was quite hard to do. That turned out to be decent though because it contained rust. The blade is actually pretty dirty and lightly Rusty below the handle. Its manageable but i found a small crack in the steel under the handle. The blade is fairly sharp except near the handle its blunt. When you take it apart you find manylittle problems. The small crack is the only concerning part. The reviews say so much about perfection which is far from true. For the price its nice. I'm considering the only way to get a great sword is spend a lot of money or build my own. I have done a lot of work to it since i got it. If you purchase take the handle off to oil it. That's why it rusted.
