Super Product
This was brilliant for picking apples from the top of my mother's very tall apple tree. Sturdy product - perhaps not the lightest but neither was it super heavy. It has saved an awful lot of apples from being wasted this year!

It is OK BUT.. Read on
Item did not travel well, see pictures. Not worth hassle of returning as I suspect damage was the result of poor packing and uncaring carriers. Took me a couple of hours to straighten (or round) up, my wife will latermake a replacement catching bag. Performs fairly well if you pick individual Bramley apples. The telescopic pole unlocks if you twist device the incorrect way and crashes down, so be warned on that point. Not easy to tighten this by hand, as pole is smooth, if overtightened then difficult to readjust. Overall a quite useful tool, enabled us to reach fruit not previously possible, once problems sorted. Pole rubber foot/ferrule also damaged.

Great length pole, grabber and bag good
Great for picking the apples. Does exactly what I wanted to save getting ladder out. Can fit 5 apples in bag at one time if wanted. Packaging for posting was bit poor.

Broke after using it once
Bought this to pick figs. The telescope works fine, but the basket is so badly moulded that it fell off on the second day of using it. The bag is also made from flimsy materials and teared after I'd taped the basket back on so that my figs wouldn't go to waste. It could be a great product if the moulding was better, as the telescope is fine and does extend very far, but in its current state its a waste of money, I'm afraid.

Great well made fruit picker
This has strong pole and won't break or bend like another I bought last year. I can reach the big apples at the top of the tree with this so does the job well and without damaging the fruit.

Does the job even for smaller fruit
I bought this telescopic fruit picker for my cherries. This is originally intended for bigger fruit, like apples, pears, etc but it was by far the cheapest fruit picker and so I decided to take my chances. I had to bend the metal prongs inwards to increase the chances of the cherries getting in between them and for the product to do the job effectively. It's not 100% effective but I've managed to pick loads of cherries which would have otherwise been inaccessible and therefore forsaken to be picked by birds. The fruit picker is light and extends long enough (4m) to reach very high. Recommended if you're on a budget and hate to see your smaller fruit wasted away year after year.

Every tool can't be perfect for every job, but this is a good 'un
Not as light as all that, needing some strength as well as dexterity to wield, but it certainly works. For present needs, I could have done with a smaller bag and lighter pole.....but some of the weight must be down to the fact that it has such a potential reach, which means when my trees get bigger I'll be glad of it! Our orchard is on a slope, ladder not really an option, so the extending pole will come into its own :-)The bag was also larger than needed this time because I was picking apples to be stored, and didn't really want the first ones in the bottom to be clobbered by a whole lot of others falling on top. I ended up picking individual fruits and pulling back the pole each time, which was cumbersome. If that weren't a consideration, the bag capacity (large enough for quite a few apples, depending on their size) will be an advantage, and if the tree is really tall, this will definitely be the picker you want :-)
